So sorry to hear this DL - and so it goes on!!
Been thinking of you. Doesn’t sound as though Miss D doing herself or her case any favours though. Hope you can enjoy the bbq, even so.

Well, Miss D sacked her solicitor last week, she’s not co-operated with any psychiatric assessment and refuses to do a drugs test. The judge insists that all these things need to be done, so judgement has been adjourned again until the end of July.
The only positive was that our family contact was more important than the endless demands of the `Jehovah’s witness movement. ( It’s been murderous fighting that as well.)
So, on we press, and meanwhile, I’ve been coerced into a belated Father’s Day barbecue tomorrow (at DDs), because my ex insisted I was there.
God knows why I have to be there. Still, anything for a quiet life lately.🙄
Hope everyone is having a lovely day. 🌞💐x
I look at the northern train app from 4 months before I want to travel once they go on sale I book them. Northern rail doesn't charge booking fee unlike Traveline . Plus I have a senior Railcard card and get a third off normal fares. The card cost £70 for 3 years and it's well worth having .
That’s brilliant Whiff, how do you get such bargains?
Hope it’s all sorted now Dil🤞
Smiles fingers and toes crossed that the buyer goes through with it . They must had really wanted it to put in an offer after 10 mins after leaving . Your dog are going to love living at your new lodge full time. I know you still have your flat which you said you would go to occasionally. 🌹
Booked my tickets for my holiday in September to York. £21.50 return and it's a direct train each way . Love getting a bargain .
My thoughts are with you DiamondLily. 🌹
As Smiles has said to you above DL fingers crossed for you. xx
Congratulations Smiles you are so lucky to get an offer from the first viewer! You can relax now and enjoy your holiday

Keeping you and yours in my thoughts today DL and praying that the final decision is made today and that it is the right one
x
Smiles - congrats! Sounds like the plan is coming together.🍾
Thanks for all the messages - I’ll let you know when I do. It’s all stress, but I hope it all gets sorted today. This uncertainty is draining, and it’s been going on so long.🙄
Hope everyone has a lovely day - it’s sunny and very warm down here in the South.🌞🌞
All going well for you Smileless, it was meant to be. Heatwave coming so you will enjoy your lodge even more. You will find it a lot easier than your last move, you already know how good it is living in your Lodge. It does sound stressful transferring the money.
DL. Big day for all your family, Do hope there’s a good outcome.
First viewing at 15.45. A bit of a mix up over the key so I stayed in while Mr. S. took the dogs out. Estate agent came and showed them around; they loved it.
10 minutes after they left we got a call from the agent telling us they'd offered the full asking price!!!
. They have a buyer whose already started the process and has been waiting for them to find somewhere they like.
I knew they'd offer when they came upstairs. He was grinning from ear to ear and the first thing she asked me was 'why are you selling?'. Their S about 8 and D about 11, clearly loved it too.
It's only been 3 weeks since we reserved the lodge and we complete on that tomorrow and have a buyer for our house. This was surely meant to be
.
Smiles hope the viewing goes well but you know how unreasonable some people can be. At least you are spared the rude comments about your house. Getting the keys is exciting . Brilliant you can take your time moving things into the places you want ready to move into . 🥂
DiamondLily hope the judge makes the right decision and your great granddaughter is with your family. Fingers and toes crossed for you DL. 🤞
I may have missed some of the news, as I have been on holiday.
Smiles , are you moving to a new forever home? It will be a fresh start, I’m sure . Is it far away from your present home ? All the best for the move and hope you and MrS will be very happy there 🏠
We're not moving tomorrow Yogin. We complete and get the keys and will be taking what we're keeping over a period of time, beginning tomorrow.
Two more viewings booked, one for next week while we're on holiday and one when get back.
Oh and good luck with your viewing x
Best of luck for Friday DL fingers crossed for you & the baby.
Seems like Friday is the day, with Smiles moving as well.
Best of luck with that Smiles & Mr. S Looking forward to hearing how it went, what are you doing with your doggies? I suppose with the 2 lodges on the day, you can manage the dogs between them.
That was a lovely post Granniesunite thank you x
Will be thinking of you all on Friday DL - hope the right judgment is made, and everyone can accept it so there can be a stable future ahead for the child and you all. You sound an amazing mum/mil.
Good luck with the sale Smiles!
Everything crossed that Friday is the final hearing DL and that the judge makes the right decision in the best interests of the child.
We have our first viewing tomorrow at 3.45, not bad considering the house only went on line this afternoon.
Thanks everyone for your good wishes and support
xx
Good Luck for Friday DL, I hope it works out for you .
Good afternoon everyone. 🙂
Well done, Smiles - you go for it. I hope your new place gives you every happiness. 🍾
The (apparantly) final court case here, regarding my GGD in on Friday, when I’m just hoping the judge will make a binding decision on contact etc.
This saga of lunacy has now been going on nearly 2 Years, and we are all exhausted. We have done reports, assessments, interviews etc. We are being backed up by every SW, assessor, Guardian Ad Litem, but, if it’s not enough, then I’m at the point of “so be it”.🤷♀️
The adoptive mother of Miss D has fought us every step of the way - she wants that child to herself, despite not being a blood relation.. Hopefully, the judge will see through it, but who knows?😗
Anyway, meantime, I’m just trying to support DD and SIL through it.
My son lives in America, in one of the weather emergency states - it’s 45 degrees over there, and unbearable.🌞
Still, on we go. Hope everyone is having a lovely day. 💐x
I wish you Smileless and Ms S many happy and contented years in your new home and yes you can “feel” your excitement about your move. I’m so very happy for you both.
Best to all the lovely ladies on this very supportive and loving thread.
Well done Smiles & MrS sounds like you're really on the ball & even set to collect the keys on Friday, so quick!
Yes, the young man in the bank did well to advise you. Whenever I transfer a large sum of money I always test first with a £1000.
Enjoy Smiles! Life is an adventure to be lived. Making the most of the things that excite us and make us happy is the only antidote to the sadness and pain of estrangement.
I can feel your excitement, I hope everything goes smoothly, and the move is uneventful!
Hope this is your settled happy forever home.
Well done the bank for double checking, scams are so rife these days.
Evening everyone.
Hope you got everything done you wanted in the garden Yogin.
You should be sitting in the sofa with your legs up as you read this Whiff, after such a busy day.
We spent the day packing up at our lodge and got loads done, but not finished yet; about 2/3's done so I'm really pleased. A lot packed up for the charity shops and quite a bit taken through to the flat.
Another day to spend packing and dismantling storage boxes ready for when we get back from our holiday and Mr. S. picks up the van we're hiring.
I was very impressed with the young man at our bank when I went in yesterday to transfer to bulk of the money for our new lodge. He asked me if we'd been given the invoice with the bank details in person, and when I said it had been emailed and we'd printed it off, he suggested I 'phone and get them to confirm the details before we made the payment.
He reminded me that it's not unknown for businesses to get hacked into and for scammers to send invoices with their bank details resulting in the money getting lost.
It reminded me of a case I heard where a payment for a house purchase was mistakenly sent to a scammer instead of the solicitor, because the buyer didn't know that the bank details she'd been sent were incorrect.
It was her inheritance and she lost the lot. I hope there's a special place in hell for these awful people.
I'll transfer the final amount tomorrow and we'll go through on Friday to complete the paper work and collect the keys to our new home
.
The house went on the market yesterday so now we have to wait for someone to come along and love it as much as we do.
I haven't felt this excited and happy dear friends since we were estranged and I'm so pleased that we're doing this now, together, me and the love of my life
.
