Christmas jam - made with damsons, orange juice/zest, cinnamon and a slug of apple liqueur. Just made some and my house smells of Christmas.

Butternut me too. They travel miles for my treacle pud. I make a mean Jamaican Black Cake too, you would not believe how much booze can go into one cake! wine

Bread

I don't cook or bake anything like as much as I used to. If I make cakes and puddings these days, it's me who gets fat. Apart from when the grandsons visit. They love my chocolate cake.

My actual dinners have always been very down to earth, meat and two veg type of thing. DD2 does much more interesting and delicious dinners than I do. I can't stand faffing with a lot of ingredients.

I could be just lazy.

Scones & Victoria sponge.

JO4 Tue 04-Sept-12 17:06:35

I used to make treacle pud when the kids were still here. These days I would just eat it all. hmm

Ella46 Tue 04-Sept-12 17:16:53

I used to make a mean creme bruleé (don't know if that accent is in the right place, I was trying the AltGr key!), and a yummy apple strudel, but not any more or I would need a gastric band! [fat slob emoticon]

Alison have you posted your Jamaican boozy cake recipe..sounds lush!

AlisonMA Tue 04-Sept-12 17:51:08

nanaej how and where do I post it? Do I just type it in here?

nanaej Tue 04-Sept-12 18:01:32

well you could! i am not sure if people just post recipes on the recipe bit of the website or if they are sent to GNHQ first! You could PM it to me!

nanaej Tue 04-Sept-12 18:02:32

alison you can put it on the recipe bit..I just looked!!

Elegran Tue 04-Sept-12 18:06:38

Alison the recipe place is reached via the "Life and Style" link up above the forums list. Hovering on it with the cursor shows "Food" clicking on that takeds you to where the recipes live.

Or you could just cut out the middleman and type it into a post - but it will soon get lost inder future posts.

Elegran Tue 04-Sept-12 18:07:55

Under not inder, and takes should not have a D. Mind more on boozy cake than on typing.

NfkDumpling Tue 04-Sept-12 21:25:55
