I love my 5 a day . We also have a salad every single day . Think we should eat part of our food intake raw . Good for one !!! smile

I hate it in pubs when they serve a portion of salad with nearly everything. You feel duty bound to eat it because you've paid for it.

You even get it with fish and chips. That is ridiculous!

Agreed jo5 the world would not be a poorer place without lettuce.
Isn't it the heat that destroys the vitamin c?

One of my favourite snacks is a crisp lettuce sandwich on good wholemeal bread. Apparently this was my mother's special treat when she was expecting me, early in the war when treats were few and far between.

Agreed Ella, and definitely none of those nasty low-fat 'dressings' either, it's got to be the real thing smile
