I had some good ones before Christmas from Waitrose, but now they are tasteless, I have given up buying them.

I had yummy ones before xmas from Sainsbury's Taste the Difference range. They were from named farms in S africa. Quite different.

I think oranges in general tend to be a bit 'luck of the draw'. Difficult to assess which will be fresh and juicy, and those dry and tasteless when buying.
My husband loves oranges, and we've found sticking with the big Naval oranges give us the best 'taste and juicy' factor.

Small little ones, when good, are like sweets. Lovely!

I can't be bothered with them.
They're too fiddly and none of them have that exquisite flavour that they used to have in the 50s when you got 1 per year, at the bottom of your Christmas stocking [hopeless nostalgia emoticon]

I find the small ones that are difficult to peel and have lots of pips are usually tastier than satsumas which are easy-peel , but they are too messy to handle for me so I prefer a full-size fruit especially blood oranges when they are available.

Is anyone else finding them tasteless and dry at the the moment? On Radio 4 this morning a chap from Reading Uni was saying how the heavy rains and floods will mean that a lot of the fruit and veg will not have the usual amount of nutrients. But he was talking about this country. Have Spain and Italy, or wherever these oranges come from, been hit as badly as the uk? I wonder.

It's a bit worrying all round. Although the university bloke did say that the usual 5 a day would still provide enough nutrients.
