Desperately trying to develop new comfort foods to replace the ones am no longer allowed, ie anything with gluten or lactose. I am developing a taste for sunflower margarine but hot fresh homemade white bread with butter would have been mine. I think anything that reminds me of my mum's cooking, so possibly proper baked potatoes, fruit crumbles, even her liver and onions in bisto!
And she had a marguerite patten cookbook that I can still remember poring over, which had a recipe for some sort of cinnamony raisin danish with crumbly nutty topping. Mmmm. Yep, it is probably all about the fat!
