I've made lots of different jams already this year, but the absolute, run away favourite, is a strained mixed fruit one that simply used up all the bits of leftover fruit I had - including the mashed up redcurrants that were left from the redcurrant jelly. Three jars used up in ONE week!

I love damson jam but haven't seen any for ages. Otherwise, my favourite is apricot. I've even tried making my own this year and it's lovely. The other good thing about apricot is that my OH hates it, so it's all mine!

Just made some blackcurrant jam. I just love it, with some lovely warm scones there is nothing better. I took the grandchildren with me to the local PYO fruit farm outside Wallingford Oxfordshire as I don't have any in the garden. It didn't take us long to fill a container. Cost was £4 per kilo for currants black and red. The grandchildren loved the blackcurrant jam on toast.....

I used to love pineapple conserve, made I think by Hartley's, for a change. I don't know whether it is still available. Of course nothing beats home made jams with thick bread and real butter.

Gally, we had fresh apricots in France a couple of weeks ago and they were divine, juicy and sweet and very tasty, perhaps its just the English ones that are bland!

Oh yes shysal I forgot about that delicious pineapple jam. I think you are right it was/is made by Hartleys. Yummy.

I haven't seen pineapple jam since the 60s. My mum used to buy it. It went well in a cheese butty.

My favourite jam is the one that is set. Baled out of the blackcurrants last night too soon (again - the excuse this time is the cooking pot was a bit over full and i was shattered...)

The blackberry jam my friend gave me recently. Made by herself with blackberries grown on her allotment.

Lovely ! My mother used to make fantastic blackberry jam with fruit picked from bushes outside her house (nowhere near pollution from cars.)
