Tonight we had Chicken Kiev with Lyonnaise potatoes. I have to admit the CK was not made by me but a local butcher whose ready meals are really, really good but I did make the Lyonnaise potatoes myself and I know I shouldn`t blow my own trumpet but it was a good meal

I`m whispering - tonight is another salad (Wimbledon`s on) but with lovely local new potatoes - said loudly

Roast chicken, stuffed baked potatoes and salad!

Anne58 Tue 24-Jun-14 17:56:53

Bacon and fried egg sandwich. Should also have Branston pickle in it, but I've run out. Currently really can't be bothered to cook for just me, even though I have the time.

However will be doing salad Nicoise on Friday when Mr P comes home. He had never had it until last summer when I first made it for him. It's sometimes one of those forgotten salads, but is actually full of flavour and quite substantial.

Oven baked chicken fillet with crumby coating (not my choice but still...) with stir fried courgettes, onions and mushrooms (yum) Followed by strawberries. And possibly a square or two of chocolate

I have my main meal at lunch time as DH works in the Co-op during the evening. Today I had easy lunch, fish and chips from the chippy with Dad and sister after his eye appt. (all well). Tonight it's a chicken and stuffing sandwich with a glass of red wine left over from yesterday's beef bourguingon.

Corned beef (a pack of 4 slices each) (We know how to live) microwave jacket potatos (only half a small one for me, and frozzed peas. With homemade damson chutney. Delicious. And nutritious. smile

Ana Tue 24-Jun-14 19:45:03

You each have four slices of corned beef? shock

Ana Tue 24-Jun-14 19:45:23

(Too fatty for me...)

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 24-Jun-14 19:47:31

Err! 'scuse me Madam! We are talking Waitrose corned beef hear you know. [stuck-up sniff]

18 grams of fat, and it's the only fat we've had all day. (you need some)

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 24-Jun-14 19:48:50

...and 28 grams of protein each.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 24-Jun-14 19:49:43

And it was followed by raspberries and no-fat greek plain yogurt. [halo]

Ana Tue 24-Jun-14 19:51:00

Oh, well, if it's Waitrose corned beef that's OK...grin

sparkygran Wed 25-Jun-14 18:45:39

Ah fig jam NanKate you little rascal - dinner tonight Chez Sparkygran not worth a mention

hildajenniJ Wed 25-Jun-14 18:57:08

Today it was gammom, pineapple, fried mushrooms and tomatoes(shop bought, none ready in the greenhouse yet), and chips. We then followed this with salted caramel and peanut ice cream, rather unusual but quite moreish.hmm

NanKate Wed 25-Jun-14 21:32:08

I love seeing what everyone else is having for supper, far more interesting that my cold chicken leg, jacket spud, mixed hot veg.

AND ........ wait for it......

One and a half mini mince pies grin left over from Christmas with brandy dribbled in them and hot custard. DH pointed out it is only 6 months exactly until mince pies will abound again !!

NanKate Wed 25-Jun-14 21:33:46

This thread is as good as reading the menu in a good restaraunt, and no calories. Keep it up!

kittylester Thu 26-Jun-14 07:07:10

We had pork steaks, beaten out and coated in chopped sage, parmesan and breadcrumbs with very, very garlicky homemade oven chips and salad.

Tonight it`s real Cornish Pasties from the Real Cornish Pasty shop. I really must start cooking again Wimbledon as an excuse is wearing a bit thin even to me

Gagagran Thu 26-Jun-14 13:59:06

We're having poached smoked haddock with a poached egg on top plus new potatoes and a few garden peas followed by raspberries and clotted cream (which needs using up).

Got the DGC tomorrow so it's pizzas and garlic bread and probably strawberries and icecream.

Mamie Thu 26-Jun-14 14:12:46

Chicken pieces baked in yoghurt, onion and saffron marinade. Red carmargue rice salad with avocado, toasted almonds, coriander and goji berries.

rosequartz Thu 26-Jun-14 16:01:56

That sounds absolutely delicious, Mamie!

M&S fish pie (can't be bothered to cook tonight).
Raspberries from the garden with icecream.
