As part of our preparations to get the mobile site up and running we are changing the way we do reviews to make sure they work just as well on a phone or tablet as they do on the desktop site.

This means discontinuing the old-style review pages and moving them onto the forums instead. We will also be losing the product reviews topic on the forums as we reckon it's far easier to find reviews for beauty products, say, under 'Style and beauty' or great hotels under 'Travel' than it is to trawl through reams of things that are not relevant to your search.

That bit coming soon - but for now we will be reposting all your reviews for eating and drinking out on this thread so that the info is still available to anyone who'd like to use it. Of course if you have others that you would like to rave/moan about do feel free to add here too.

The Gun Inn, Chiddingly, East Sussex - overall rating 7/10

(From SalJB)

(2011) Gastro pub food, very popular, but with limited menu. Nice atmosphere and fast service. Plenty of local walks from this pub with cards detailing them all.

Giraffe, branches nationwide - overall rating 6.5/10

(2012) Agree that it has good food for all the family, but we find their policy of not allowing booking can be a pain as one often finds that there is no table available at popular times. Would go more often if we could be sure of getting in.

(2011) This is a great cafe style restaurant where children can be as noisy as they want as the staff are really well-disposed to them. The food is tasty without being anything special but children love it.

Marks & Spencer Restaurant, Hedge End, Southampton - overall rating 2/10

(From NanSue)

(2013) We went to M&S Restaurant on 15.3.2013 for an afternoon meal. The service was nothing short of atrocious. The waitress that showed us to our table was surly and indifferent, we then waited a good 15 minutes before having to ask someone if we could order, which again was met with indifference. The food generally was fine but the experience was not. I am not a complainer and cannot remember the last time I gave a bad review on a restaurant. I just felt compelled to do so this tim
