For some time I've been a fan of Lidl's own version of Cornetto, the chocolate and vanilla is lovely, not quite so keen on the strawberry, but that might just be me?

Anyway, at around £1.50 for 6, when "proper" Cornetto's are £1 each when bought singly, you can't go wrong.

However, they have a new flavour, salted butter caramel! Mr P bought me a box as a treat, and they are absolutely yummy!

I had one after supper last night, and I'm rather ashamed to admit that I had another one halfway through the film!blush

You're a bad influence Phoenix. grin Having read this thread of course we had to go out and do the research ourselves...

A Lidl is being built close to where I live- thankfully it will not be ready any time soon- I would adore all that have been described. phoenix may I say that you and Mr. p are a bad influence. I do like almond Magnum but they are not cheap.

So, Lara after your "diligent research" what were your findings?

Well, the first two one blush was quite delicious. But in order to give a full and detailed report, it's only fair to finish the rest of the box to make sure they are of consistent quality.

I am in awe of your dedication Lara grin but what about comparison to the other flavours?

Only last night I FORCED myself to try one of the chocolate and vanilla cones shortly after the salted butter caramel ones, purely so that I could give fellow GN'ers the right sort of feedback.

I held back on the strawberry ones, mainly because I didn't have any............

STOP THIS AT ONCE!! I'M ALREADY FAT ENOUGH!!

LaraGransnet (GNHQ) Fri 13-May-16 16:34:15

This is true! That will have to be next week's assignment. grin

Sorry Lona. But they are that good!

My lot love Aldi's version of Magnum. They are called something like 'Lusciously coated Chocolate Brownie de luxe ice creams' and at 3 for £1.49, cheaper than Magnums. DH says they are much nicer smile
