The DGC's know not to ask to go to McD's as I loathe the place. They aren't entirely deprived as both stepdad and father do take them. They're happy to have lunch with me in the restaurant managed by their aunt.

KFC fillet-burgers are lovely! And luckily, Shoe Zone isn't far away...grin

Bellanonna Wed 18-Jan-17 22:59:53

You can always start a thread about the latter Ana?

Grandson likes going to Esquires in Durham as we can sit and watch the trains going over the viaduct.
Otherwise it's Ask.

I like KFC but we've taken wee DGD to McDonald's a couple of times and she's had a great time sampling all our drinks and eating nuggets! Not sure it's approved by DD though. grin

Obviously here in Southend we have every fast food outlet known to man + some.
But our favourite is Tangs and East. These are Chinese and Thai eat as much as you want for £7 including a drink and dessert.

Book me a hotel there immediately Petra..... am on my way! how much can I eat ( muses...) quite a lot! grin

And we could go on the Big Dipper afterwards.

Grannyben Fri 20-Jan-17 21:52:49

Any, don't care which one or what they sell, if I'm eating and not washing up I'm happy

Jalima Fri 20-Jan-17 22:39:45

Do you leave the other five DGC sitting outside?

I don't like pizza or Mackers

Jalima Fri 20-Jan-17 22:40:58

When DD wanted to go into Mackers a couple of times when she was young I took my M&S sandwiches in with me and ate them in a quiet corner.
The coffee is OK though.

Tried them nearly all with 7 grandkids McDs, Pizza Hut, KFC, subway
I dislike harvester much too expensive for what you get
Now we mainly go to Cafes or restaurant chains we have one called Iconic which is very good I think it's a chain.....not too keen on wetherspoons though

Katek Sat 21-Jan-17 13:17:12

Neither of the older dgc will eat fast food. Maybe pizza but not burgers, nuggets etc. We usually go to hotels, restaurants or a cafe, so many have child friendly menus or half portions.

MawBroon Sat 21-Jan-17 13:23:43

Do you have to "hot foot it" to a
fast foot restaurant grin??‍♀️?
Or does this belong on another thread?

Bellanonna Sun 22-Jan-17 11:41:12

I find Harvester quite reasonable BlueBelle. Ours has an Early Bird menu which now runs all day, and you get free help-yourself-as-often-as-you-like salad with it. At one time kids were free but not sure whether that applies now.

I like Courtepaille in France and in England I like Itsu and Wagamama which are good for low-carbers like me. My GDs always choose Wagamama.
