Now, I have no guilt about my " crimes", but mine could possibly be salt. Or Lurpak. Or sugar. Or fat on meat. Or.....

Oh dear, there's not much hope for me!

Any form of Cadburys chocolate! I can't stop!

I am another who gets very angry that so many women see themselves as naughty for enjoying food.

Foods of one sort or another have been demonised over the years and so many people are guilty of buying into it. I loathe fad diets with a passion and although over weight I just cannot bring myself to go to a slimming club for support. The ethos of clapping people for resisting a chip or denying themselves a sultana makes me want to scream.

Most of us know the theory regarding ways to lose weight. I also believe that denial of foods and labelling some as 'bad' does all sorts of mental damage and can completely mess up our heads and relationship with food.

I am of the 'a little of what I fancy does me good' school of thought. I have discovered Crunchie ice lollies with popping candy thanks to my GC. They are gorgeous! I have a box of four in the freezer now.

I need to up my exercise so I can carry on eating as I please. I hate fat on meat, and am not really a biscuit or pudding fan, so my diet isn't bad. I need to move more.

Thank you Day 6, grumpy old woman, Anya and many more. Sin and guilt do not come into, this. End of. (But then she continues.......)
Our generation are fortunate that most of us never suffered from acute food shortages such as existed during WW II or like my mother suffered in Germany during and at the end of the war. We may have known hunger indeed we were encouraged not to "spoil our appetite" and feeling hungry was the normal precursor to a meal. But to attribute "naughtiness" or "guilt" to good wholesome food is downright stupid.
We could feel guilt about wasting food when there millions starving in the world and families depending on food banks closer to home, but I get very angry when "naughty but nice" gets mentioned. Some of the "indulgences" some people have admitted to -fresh bread, butter, good cheddar are healthy, satisfying and what the good lord has provided (even Hagen Dazs)
So stop pretending beating yourselves up about it.

Yes, I agree MawBroon and others who have said something similar.

That's why I don't go to Slimmers' World because they call food 'syns' or some other daft name.

I would never call it a 'crime'. I do my best. I eat salads, oily fish, fruit and all the stuff I am advised to so the occasional chip butty is a pleasure not a crime smile

Jalima1108 Tue 01-Aug-17 19:57:44

Sweet potato chips are even better!!

Norah Tue 01-Aug-17 19:58:39

Too much tea.

rosesarered Tue 01-Aug-17 20:21:13

Norah that's not a crime grin it's normal! And I drink amazing amounts of tea,
If it's Earl Grey then it counts as a fruit.smileโ˜•๏ธ

Where can I buy Marmite crisps?

Day6 Wed 02-Aug-17 10:30:07

Norah, what would life be without tea?

My days are punctuated by brewing up. If given the choice of a life without wine in it or a life without tea, well, I just couldn't imagine never having tea. I'd go for tea every time! The rise and rise of the coffee shop bewilders me. I am not really a coffee drinker.

Alima Wed 02-Aug-17 10:36:10

It is just after 10.30 and I have just eaten a sausage roll. Hope the rest of the day isn't as bad.

seacliff Wed 02-Aug-17 17:07:08

Oh dear, you're making crave Marnie crisps again now. None in the house (they don't last long)

I also love halloumi, with southern fried wedges and tomatoes.

Yoghurt covered brazil nuts - very healthy of curse, yoghurt and nuts - but a whole packet??!!
