There's only two of us so turkey is off the menu. I've made a nut loaf instead and we'll have all the usual veg and trimmings. I also bought frozen lobster from Aldi and thought it would be a change.
Don't want to be tied to the stove all day.
Are you having the traditional turkey tomorrow?

We will be three for Christmas dinner, and we are having a goose, as requested by DS. In the afternoon DD and the four GC will be coming. A buffet tea is almost ready to put on the table. Only salad to prepare and cream to whip for the pavlova.

We have a four bird roast from our butcher. Pheasant, Duck and Turkey, but blowed if I can remember what the fourth one is.

We had it last year, and it was gorgeous. Did us for Christmas Day, then cold on Boxing Day, and froze some for later.

Duck. It's a recipe from the Aldi website from a few weeks back: duck in mulled wine sauce. Which reminds me - I'd better switch the oven on!

Oh Yes only two of us but it wouldn't be Christmas without a nice free range turkey we don't have the full panoply just some lovely fresh veg to go with it and I enjoy making lots of other meals from it like curries, soups etc so it goes on a bit but we love it.

I have never really liked turkey and since we've been alone at Christmas have had chicken which we like, however I succumbed this year and I still don't like turkey.
I will make a mild curry and the rest will go in soup.

Turkey on Christmas day at our house. Cold ham, beef. Pear and Rockfort tart etc at DDs yesterday. I have still got masses of turkey and a whole untouched ham .so will have to get the recipe books out today. I can see a curry coming up and cold ham with bubble and squeak sometime today

Looking forward to making a sort of Chile sauce with cold turkey as featured on GN today, wouldn't have thought of that. Luckily have all the ingredients as several inches of snow have appeared overnight.

I'm going cold turkey too, as my sister left quite a lot. No idea yet what I will do with it!

I cooked turkey as usual but this time bought a fresh turkey
instead of a frozen one.

Taste wise it didn't seem any different but I did notice the skin was thicker when I lifted it to rub butter in. Could have something to do with the freezing process perhaps.
