I grew up in a household that was never without a jar of Branston Pickle and for all of my 49 years of marriage we have also always had a jar of this delicious pickle in the kitchen. (Although my husband can't stand it!)
What food items have you always got in your cupboard or fridge?

After nearly 60 years I think I got married young just so I could eat spoons full of condensed milk ....
When I first got married I actually bought a tin of condensed milk and ate it ... All myself ...
but somehow it wasn't that delicious as when I'd sneaked a spoon from mums pantry ...

I always have a full tin of condensed milk in my cupboards until way past its sell by dates .... Then I get another !!!

okimherenow, have you tried the little tubes of condensed milk? That is if you can still get them. I bought one once, and sucked it down straight away. ?
My must have is Golden Syrup.

- Bovril - essential for spreading on buttered toast, adding to casseroles, stews and shepherd's pie; or just drinking dissolved in a mug of hot water...
- Salted butter
- A variety of cheese (ALWAYS mature cheddar, a blue cheese and at least one more)
- Boxes of cappuccino coffee drinks
- Evaporated milk
- Gin grin
- Tonic
