So far today I have had a cup of tea with a ginger biscuit. Lunch will be brown bread with crab pate and some satsumas. Dinner will be the second half of the chicken and veg casserole I made yesterday using up Sunday's roast chicken.

Be rolled out, this ipad is trying to take over.....

We too filled up on carbs, mostly left overs, I cooked a gammon on Saturday so we had that with sauté potatoes and a fried egg, we weren’t hungry at dinner time but managed a handful of biscuits, then some wine and cashew nuts last evening.
This has to stop or we will have to eat rolled out of the house when this is all over .

So far this morning I have had half a pint of water and I am now in bed with a cup of tea and a chocolate digestive. Which is very odd as I am not a chocolate fan grin

I rarely eat breakfast but have various cups of coffee from my George Clooney machine in the course of the morning.
Pitta bread with home made hummus for lunch and the second half of my pub Mothering Sunday roast beef dinner reheated in the microwave for supper.
Not exactly Masterchef!

fatgran57 what is savoury toast please?

craftyone Tue 24-Mar-20 07:17:18

I am being very careful not to waste any food. Breakfast was topsey turvey but very nice, left over jar pasta sauce, lentil pasta and chard which was still green. I want to save the milk, gregs which sells organic milk has now closed

Yesterday evening's meal, I cobbled together some ingredients: partially cooked some cauliflower, added spicy chorizo, baby tomatoes,a handful of macaroni, cooked first, made a cheese sauce, shoved it in the oven and hey presto brown and bubbling after 25 minutes or so we both enjoyed it. I'm going to be making up quite a few of my own meals whilst shopping is becoming increasingly difficult to try and make food go further. Absolutely no waste!

I felt stressed yesterday - everything was going out of control . So had an afternoon of stodgy carbs - rocky road , pizza at lunch , a burger in a bun at tea then coffee and a handful of biscuits .
Feeling heavy and lumpy this morning so it's light eating and positive thinking from today on !

Booked eggs = boiled eggs

Coolgran65 Tue 24-Mar-20 04:31:37

Breakfast at 11am was booked eggs and toast with a big mug of tea.
Dinner was 2 lamb loin chops and cheesy pasta.

Coffee and rich tea bisvuits.

Before bed was coco pops.coco

Getting low on bread and milk so ds who is a key worker will pick up bread, milk, and an iceberg lettuce for us leaving it at the back door.

We had our usual porridge with bananas blueberries and yoghurt.
Our other meals were a bit odd as we are using everything up because deliveries are difficult to get at the minute.
Lunch - toast, tomatoes, cold pasta/pesto from yesterday, hummus, carrot sticks and coffee.
Dinner -Mash, bacon, mushrooms and baked beans.

Strange combination. But we really didn't want to throw anything out. Usually we wouldn't worry.

I know there have been threads like this previously but it's something to do to take our minds off the virus.

I had raw overnight-soaked oats with blueberries, raspberries and banana with greek yoghurt for breakfast plus 2 mugs of tea.

Morning latte OH always makes for us

Another cup of tea.

Bowl of Thai pumpkin soup and piece of savoury toast. (very popular in Australia other places may not know what it is) plus another mug of tea.

Probably salad for tea with tomatoes, avocado, onion, cucumber, lettuce plus a veggie fritter made with grated zucchini and carrot, spring onion, chilli flakes, feta and cheddar cheese, eggs and a bit of flour.

This makes 6-8 and I have a couple a day till there are all gone.I don't get tired of having the same things for a few days.

OH has different food as he is a traditional old style eater with sausages and mash, silverside (corned beef) baked beans egg and bacon etc.

I always have some chocolate in the evening . (smile)
