What are you all having to eat tonight? I cook every evening and have been getting bored with the usual meals. Tonight, I've made a Chicken Jambalaya - it's a Hello Fresh recipe I had ages ago, but I bought all the ingredients and have adapted it a bit.

I've made a carrot cake for afters.... with cream grin

Ooh what lovely meals on here to salivate over! We’re just having ‘bits and bobs’ later - Melton Mowbray pork pie, cheese coleslaw, tomatoes, cucumber, hard boiled egg, crisps ...
I’m pretending I’m at a buffet.
❤️

We’re off to the chippies tonight too, on the way back from Mr J’s jab, we share a large cod, cooked to order and I’ll have mushy peas.

I am on a healthy eating kick so having frittata made with the left over roast vegetables from yesterday - courgettes, broccoli, carrots, sweet potato, tomatoes and red onions.

We also had chicken last night. It was a James Martin recipe, flatten the chicken, coat in breadcrumbs and parmesan. Lightly fry in butter, served with veg.

Simple, but tasty.

Sorry, I know it’s an old joke but it still makes me laugh!

Changed my mind. Just shared a brownie with DH so will drop the plums and perhaps just Hake and sweet potato chips as can’t be bothered to cook now.

Friday so fish and chips ?. With mushy peas of course. Lightly battered cod. Fabulous from our favourite chippy.

Chicken fillets in slow cooker, with onions, garlic, carrots, leeks mushrooms. To be accompanied by boiled potatoes and green beans.
Greek yogurt with honey for DH, with lemon curd for me, to follow.

Have been on Granny duties, absolutely shattered so it’s a takeaway from our favourite Indian Restaurant. Tandoori King Prawn Dansak for me not sure about DH’s main?

Previously batch-cooked chilli out of the freezer, with tortilla wraps and salad. There doesn’t seem to be quite enough chilli, though - I might have to add a tin of kidney beans etc.

I'm defrosting sardines for lunch and a cooked lamb shank for dinner.

Awaiting an Ocado delivery - highlight of my day! I'll spend the afternoon batch-cooking and faffing around in the kitchen smile

Chinese takeaway, it’s his turn to cook on Saturdays, but it’s rugby again, so that’s his solution, he doesn’t have to get off the sofa until it arrives.

Well I was going to have Moroccan vegetables and rice, but found that I haven’t got all the ingredients, So am having River Cottage winter minestrone instead.

I am being taken to M&S Simply Food this afternoon, I am so excited ?
I shall have whatever jumps off the shelf at me as long as I can just stick it in the oven.

Chicken and mushroom fricassee. Half for tonight and half to put in the freezer.

Jaxjacky Sat 20-Mar-21 13:12:46

Split meals tonight, DH is having chicken, chorizo and red pepper pizza, ?, I detest peppers. I’m having liver with veg, he dislikes liver...happy house.

annodomini Sat 20-Mar-21 13:43:40

It's wall to wall rugby today, so I will do something quick and easy - probably mushroom omelette.

Pantglas2 Sat 20-Mar-21 14:38:48

Poppadums followed by Red Thai prawn curry with Jasmine rice then apple crumble and vanilla ice cream to follow and I’m having some Cava - hopefully celebrating a ??????? win ?, otherwise the drowning of sorrows?

Beef Massaman Curry. Definitely a glass, or maybe two of wine. I haven't had any of the latter for over a week.

Daisend1 Sat 20-Mar-21 15:40:32

My home made tomato soup followed by cheese and onion quiche purchased from any supermarket I have shopped at recently. No pudding but a black coffee and a slice of fruit cake while watching either emmer / corrie.

suziewoozie Sat 20-Mar-21 15:44:58
