Blancmange Shortage

It's only flavoured and coloured cornflour, which is easy to find.
As with custard powder.

I was never keen on blancmange as a child----too cloy.
Even jellies aren't the same without their original ingredients of animal gelatine.

Plenty of choice on Amazon!

I didn’t know it still existed. I always loved blancmange, but then I like almost everything sweet, unfortunately.

Just checked online, Asda and Tesco have strawberry, Sainsbury’s a selection. Bought back memories, Christmas Day tea, jelly, blancmange, tinned fruit cocktail, evaporated milk, thin brown bread and butter.

I can’t find kidney. I wanted ox but at a push Lamb or pigs, but not a kidney in sight. Even my farmer is all sold out.

PS I have some blancmange in my cupboard. Doesn’t help though.

No blancmange in S W Wales either. I have found a packet of chocolate blancmange powder at the back of the cupboard, dated 2002. I might put it on eBay

I really fancy buying a rabbit shaped mould now and making a pink blancmange rabbit in a bed of angelica grass...

We always had a pink blancmange rabbit with currant eyes for our birthdays Fanny.

I used to love butterscotch Angel Delight and peach. Think I’ll have a look on shopping day ?

Does anyone remember the tinned puddings that were around in the 70s, they were similar to Angel Delight, but glossier, and they did a very nice butterscotch!

There can never be too little blancmange in this world. Horrible pink stuff that had a skin that made you gag and had a strange chemical taste.

Oh! I won’t try it. I found it in mums cupboard and remembering it with clotted cream as a child. So thought I’d try it some time.

We have a rabbit shaped mold. Pink blancmange rabbit, green jelly grass and DHs piece de resistance, two or three raisins placed by its bottom. DGDs used to love that when they were little.

I put blancmange in trifle. It's lovely.
