If you add a thin layer of marmite to the syrup sandwich it just adds a little ‘je ne sais pas’ to the deliciousness!

And I always thought he was just sleeping... never-mind the swarm of bugs around him!

I've got a tin of it in the cupboard and treacle too. I have the syrup on the porridge in winter.
I used to like it on bread as a child, treacle as well.

Oh we loved this on toast! We called it Lion Honey. Good on crepes as well.

I loved this syrup as a child. A syrup sandwich was a real treat - it was so sweet. I clearly recall the image on the tin of a dead lion lying there. How strange! The slogan on the tin read “Out of the strong came forth sweetness”, I wonder what that allmeant?
