When I moved I gave away all of my large collection of items used for icing and decorating cakes.

Recently, was asked to make some cup cakes for a fete, purchased some new nozzles and icing bags. Then found I was totally unable to use these as just did not have the strength in my wrists to squeeze the butter icing through.

So.....as I am certain I am not the only problem with this sort of problem am asking if anyone ojt there has suggestions what IU can use instead of these icing bags.

I suggest you use melted fondant icing and dip the little cakes into it and if you want a fancy top use a few sugared flowers for example.

An alternative is to make butterfly cakes which don't need the cream/buttercream to be piped.

Make a water/lemon/orange juice icing with icing sugar and drizzle/spread over the top, buy readymade fondant icing and cut out shapes to place on top, perhaps appropriate to the event, this can be stuck in place by using a touch of jam or honey. The other alternative is to make a blueberry/strawberry muffin mix and make into small cup cakes and sprinkle with icing sugar. These also have the advantage of being seen as slightly more healthy as they have fruit smile

When my daughter was making cup cakes for school we used a plastic syringe type of icing kit from Amazon - has a plunger. She did want the quite solid Betty Crocker ready made icing, it did work well.

Here are some interesting and easy ideas:

I did some like these once for a birthday:

And another time I dipped the cupcakes and then used fondant icing in a silicone flower shape.
If you put a few blobs of different shades in the flower-former you can have tinted blooms.
I used this type:

The other option is to use the easy-to stamp-out sugarpaste/ petal paste with a simple shape.
Quick and easy.

I like the ones with a tiny spring-loaded plunger.
