Hello
Oh dear. I haven’t made my splendid puff pastry mince pies yet (mainly due to DH having no appetite, which thankfully seems to have returned).

Anyway, I have two packs of Jus-Roll in the fridge - bb. 21/11/21

Should I go for it, or bin it?

Thank you, and a Happy and Peaceful Christmas! x

I'm a bit worried about you pasta related scarring, though. Will it marr your rolling technique?

First drink the wine to get the empty bottle (rather than fishing in the bin for empties). Then everything should go swimmingly. Hic!

A glass bottle does as a good rolling pin.

My smoked salmon side and paté arrived yesterday along with a salmon en croûte I ordered from some posh fish place. The pastry parcel said best before December 5th? I phoned them up and they said it was ok because it was frozen when sent. I wasn't happy with the explanation because the frozen date was still wrong. Anyway, seeing as we have to live dangerously in these times, we ate it. The pastry was decidedly soggy even after 30 minutes, but I'm still here you will be pleased or not to read!

Apple and mincemeat crumble is lovely. I use about 2/3 apples to 1/3 mincemeat.

Or a ditto pie, layer of pastry on the plate, thin layer of mincemeat, topped with apples, pastry top. Only don’t do what I once did when we had guests and I’d probably had too much G&T - right after I’d taken it out of the oven, the whole thing somehow slid off the plate into the dog’s bed. Where the broken bits all mingled with dog hair and her rainy-day Bonios, etc.
