I think I could live with the odd strange dish and his is definitely odd.

Chicken and mushrooms are surely a pair made in heaven. I make a chicken, leek and mushroom pie, too - no pastry, just mash on top, using leftover roast chicken.

I love mushrooms fried in a bit of butter and oil with garlic perfect but never beans with chicken.

I'm not a fan of baked beans or chips. However I love mushrooms baked with layers of potatoes, sweet onions, wine and herbs. Similar to Zwiebelkuchen.

Even if they are served with a full English breakfast (which I rarely eat), they have to be in a separate ramekin for me.

Chicken definitely goes with mushroom (chicken and mushroom pie, anyone?). And mushrooms go with chips (steak, chips and mushrooms), so I can't see a problem. Sounds delicious to me!

Sorry, I don’t like mushrooms. It is the texture.
Not baked beans with chicken, but if I was hungry and someone had cooked for me with baked beans, I would eat them.

DH was cooking tonight's meal which was chicken and chips. I asked him to saute some leftover mushrooms to go with it. He refused on the grounds that it was an abomination to serve mushrooms with chicken and chips. We got baked beans instead.

I'd have mushrooms with anything! I'd have chicken chips beans AND mushrooms!! I love beans but only Branston Beans, (Heinze are vile) Beans on toast with mushrooms & coleslaw, don't knock till you try.

Chicken and mushroom pie is a classic, would be fine without the pastry too.
I think there's a recipe which uses condensed mushroom soup with chicken.

Baked beans - on toast or with sausage and mash only.

Condensed mushroom soup with chicken is really nice, as well as simple.
