I bought some Cyprus potatoes in local Aldi yesterday. As I'm in Ireland, I wouldn't normally buy imported potatoes but the weather has been so bad that the early ones didn't get planted so I know there will be shortages!

Our farm shop said the early Cypriot potatoes they were stocking have come to the end of their season when I asked them last week.

I've not had Spanish onion for ages!
I love it in a cheese sandwich!!

I got loose Majorcan potatoes in Tesco - no idea what’s different about them yet.

I get Cyprus potatoes from local farm shop and sometimes Sainsbury’s or Waitrose stock them.

Spanish onions are stocked in our local independent grocers.

Webbs lettuce, the only lettuce with flavour, I’ve not seen one in years.

Just wondering why these have disappeared. I remember the Cyprus potatoes made lovely home made chips and when they came into season Fish and Chip shops would have notices in the windows saying "New Cyprus potatoes" and put the prices up!
Spanish onions were large and always reliable for a slightly milder flavour. Now we have "brown, red and white" in supermarkets.

Where have they gone?
