Do you fancy a Tomato Soup Cake?

I made the Tomato Soup cake 30 years ago and it was a big hit! Also made the Hellman's recipes 'Midnight Madness' and 'Afternoon Delight'. In those years, best recipes were from the makers of foods, it seemed to me.

I've made the Mayonnaise Chocolate Cake as seen on Blue Peter and you wouldn't have known there was a jar of mayonnaise in out.

We make/eat carrot cake, courgette cake, beetroot chocolate cake so why not?

No surprise that the manufacturers were the ones who invented it.

There used to be a recipe circulating in the 1970's for chicken with coca cola. I'd be interested to know if anyone tried it.

I have cooked a gammon joint in Coca Cola ( suggested by Nigella, I think), and also in ginger ale. Both were very nice.

I've not tried the chicken recipe myself, but Diet Coke Chicken seems to be a very popular dish on social media sites! Google it...

To be fair I've never tasted Tomato Soup Cake but on balance I think I'd rather not try.

You probably wouldn't need to add sugar- the soup was very sweet. Can you still actually get it?

I don't think I'd fancy it, but when we were in France, Mr. S. had tomato ice cream and it was surprisingly delicious.
