I don’t want to spread panic and alarm, but might Storm Eowyn be to blame for blighting the Yorkshire tea harvest?

Allira Mon 27-Jan-25 22:32:29

Oh no!

Sorry, but you just have spread panic and despondency 😯

Norah Mon 27-Jan-25 22:45:50

My PG Tips is available - all good say my grandchildren.

Yes!

Oh no!
Although I hope it's because they're reviewing the design of their teabags. Every time I try to tear one off, (they come in pairs), I end up splitting one of the bags because I can't separate them easily. Tea leaves everywhere. The perforations just aren't working? Grrrr.

Well I’m panicked and alarmed!

We’re doing our weekly shop tomorrow and need some. If they have any I might have to cause a shortage and stock up!

Grannynannywanny Mon 27-Jan-25 23:02:43

It’ll be a storm in a tea cup 😊

There's obviously a storm brewing in Harrogate then. 😆

Aldi Red label, as a substitute! Not bad.

Oreo Tue 28-Jan-25 08:36:36

Gasp! Say it isn’t true😲
It’s the only tea we use, will rush out toot sweet😁and hurl all the boxes I can find into my trolley.

Sago Tue 28-Jan-25 08:38:55

I always have at least 500 tea bags on standby…….really, I don’t drink coffee and only drink decaf tea.
It has to be good!
Ringtons or Yorkshire are my preference.

I second that! I drink this all the time,it’s lovely and a fraction of the price of the ‘big’ names.

Kate1949 Tue 28-Jan-25 10:44:08

Aldi Red Label for us too.

Harris27 Tue 28-Jan-25 10:48:54

Try ringtons lovely!

Annma Tue 28-Jan-25 12:45:46

Aldi gold label is a really nice tea.

HettyBetty Tue 28-Jan-25 12:50:05

escaped I find the perforations annoying too. When I open a new box of teabags I snip them all apart with scissors. A quick but satisfying task.

leeds22 Tue 28-Jan-25 12:53:25

Can't say I would miss it. Taylors make some much better teas than that stuff

TheWeirdoAgain59 Tue 28-Jan-25 12:59:14

NOOOOOOOO!

PG Tips is my number 1 but Yorkshire is my number 2!

I feel quite tortured now knowing there's a YT shortage!

spabbygirl Tue 28-Jan-25 13:01:13

Oh no!!!!! Do tell me this is some sort of awful joke... smile

This is strange - I bought 4 boxes yesterday in Sweden.

Probably a short term disruption owing to everything shutting down during the storm last week.
