Ha, I thought that’d get some of you going!

It was actually a comment I saw on Mumsnet not long ago. Glad to say most of the replies were of the ‘Lots of us!’ variety.
How about all you GNers?

We like it, though I did find out the other day that dh hadn’t a clue what ‘spring greens’ (on the list) were.
He came back with a bag of salad leaves. 😂
Obviously I should have added CABBAGE!

I like it and try to grow it. Sadly the slugs live it even more and I seldom get any surviving plants

I like it, shredded and lightly steamed served with a bit of butter and black pepper.

I can’t stand coleslaw.

Yes of course we love cabbage. I dont like the very dark Savoy kind or Kale though.

I don’t love cabbage, I don’t even like it in any form including coleslaw which pubs enjoy piling on every plate.
I don’t like cauliflower either (am on a roll now)😄or onions or radishes or broccoli.

I love cabbage and eat it regularly. My favourite is sweetheart cabbage, the pointy one.

I like my cabbage lightly sprinkled with mint vinegar or with a small spoonful of mint sauce stirred through it.

I knew a women who insisted she hated cabbage in all forms - even when we pointed out that she loved coleslaw and it has cabbage in it!

Why are you sorry don’t be ridiculous

Astitchintime Sat 24-May-25 13:35:52

Oh my, we eat loads of cabbage but do prefer the darker variety to white cabbage. If we have any white that’s hanging about in the fridge I simply grate it with carrot and a little onion and make slaw……..delicious.

Shredded pak choi cabbage is delicious in Yaki dishes.

Your mum should have told you to eat your greens grin I think you should write 100 lines "Oreo you must embrace the brassica and relish the radish"

Love cabbage cut into strips and fried - very tasty.

Never have cared much for summer cabbage, but I eat winter cabbage, savoy cabbage, red cabbage happily.

Bought a red cabbage today, will cook and freeze it in separate bags for future use. Tastes even better when defrosted and reheated.

Cateq Tue 27-May-25 13:44:14

Greciangirl Tue 27-May-25 14:28:01

I absolutely love steamed greens.

But after reading these posts, I’m going to try frying in butter and seasonings.
