…in the shops now - at any rate I’ve seen them in M&S and Sainsbury’s. 50p off in Sainsbury’s if you’ve got a Nectar card

Japanese cherries in Harrods.

£145

I've actually had the pleasure of having one. Delicious. But I won't be buying any myself.

Aww- stop it. I am so jealous. The fruit in the UK tastes really nice, especially things like raspberries. I noticed the difference last time we were there. Our cherry season is pretty short and to get really good ones you need to go to a farm up the bush.

Spent yesterday at Highgrove.

His maj’s Cherries are a sight to behold😊.

In fact the whole garden is like heaven.

Mt61, part of the high cost of cherries is that they are a fiddle to pick, so the labour costs are proportionally higher.
I live in Kent, and have heard that in the recent past, the best seasonal pickers came from Ukraine, and that they are sadly missed .

Overdid them a little, I agree Aldis were very good. I too am very greedy for them but generally suffer the consequences!

I have cherry orchards literally on my doorstep. This year they have been exceptional. My favourite recipe is a salad of stoned cherries, crumbled feta, pistachios with a dressing made with pomegranate molasses as a sweetner. Yum !
