I use dried lentils, being on my own I cook a dish girl four people and freeze three. Never had a problem reheating. However I bought a tin of green lentils and it says must not be reheated, I couldn't eat a full tin of them in one meal so any suggestjobs please.

Red split lentils are the same as brown or green ones , they have just had the skin removed for quick cooking.

Aveline I experienced that many years ago. Think tge scare here started with students leaving takeaways out all night then eating in morning, not storing and reheating correctly. I reheat rice.

Just a way of making money hetting you to buy another tin after trying to get you to throw away perfectly good food.

Shame!

I've been reheating rice for years. Left over Chinese the next day. Sometimes its been in the fridge overnight sometimes just in the microwave. I've never had any problems.

This is my experience as well. If you have made the rice into a salad with the addition of salad dressing and other foodstuffs, it is safe in the fridge for several days.

I’m vegan so I always use the tinned green lentils in various dishes to bulk out instead of meat.
I have never had a problem with reheating them especially in curries, chilli’s, spag bol, and stews.
As others have said I also reheat rice from Chinese takeaways the next day. I give it a long blast in the microwave at full heat and I’ve never had a problem.
