Chicken thighs - per person?

I don’t often use them, but was looking up traybake recipes earlier - virtually all stating 8 to serve 4 people.

Those I usually buy are pretty big and TBH I’ve usually used one each, obviously with plenty of potatoes/rice/other veg. I’m sure it’d be different if you had hulking great, permanently ravenous teen boys to feed, but is it odd to have just one each?

It’s not a question of economising, BTW, I just feel that one per grown adult is enough.

Actually the latest health advice is to eat more fibre.

What nonsense it all is. A good varied diet of all colours - think Stone Age diet because that is what our systems have devolved to deal with. So seeds, nuts, grasses, fruit, veg with the odd bit of meat, fish, fats and sweet thrown in.

Btw we have 1 thigh each. Our butchers organic free range chicken are grown slowly over a longer period of time and are huge!

One for me, two for Mr C although if they’re large he’d be happy with one, we eat a lot of veg so not an empty plate.

It's quite interesting to read MN occasionally.
After all GN sprang from MN so it's good to keep in touch.
There are certain recurring themes.
Along with impossible MILs and useless or creepy or controlling men.
Another is not being given enough to eat when visiting elders.
I'm guessing it's an age thing combined with different generational behaviour and expectations.
I wonder when today's 40 year olds are 70 will they be eating as much as they do now?

Another is not being given enough to eat when visiting elders.

That's why I always cook plenty and let them help themselves.

Any leftovers (if there are) come in for the next day for DH and me. Obviously I fed them enough last time because no-one got around to cheese and biscuits.

Cheese anyone?

On the whole ours offer us less food than we offer them - no one leaves here hungry!
