There was an old woman from Hull
In her garden she kept a big bull
He's an Aberdeen Angus and gorgeous
His dangly bits are really enormous
His coat used fifty kilos of wool!

My son has just bought a new puppy

Oh I'm so looking forward to summer,
This winter has been a real bummer,
I'll cast off my dull clothes,
Put sun cream on my nose

I once went to buy an umbrella
Got one from a really nice fella,
It was green with white dots
could use when it's hot
While I sit in the sun drinking Stella

Oh I'm so looking forward to summer

There once was a small chocolate bunny
Who saved up all of his money
In a pink piggy bank
Til it fell with a clank
Onto a large jar of honey

I was once to buy an umbrella

My gosh, I believe I see sunshine
Perhaps the day might turn out fine
I'll hang out the washing
Then I'll start noshing
Maybe open a bottle of wine

We had such fun composing today
I'm glad I decided to play
Re-established the rules
For those literary fools
Who can't quite work out what it is they should say.

My gosh, I believe I see sunshine

After that we'll go home for a rest
But for travel we won't lose our zest
next time it’s long haul

After that we'll go home for a rest
But for travel we won't lose our zest
We'll be coming and going
By ship or by Boeing
I'll be glad to have you as my guest!!

This is becoming a right muddle.grin

Might help to remind ourselves of the original rules:
Only one line per poster.
Lines 1,2 and 5 must rhyme.
Lines 3 and 4 must rhyme.
There is a certain rhythm to each line.
The person who posts the fifth line, starts the new limerick.
A limerick should be amusing.
If two posters post the same line, first poster's suggestion is used.
Remember to refresh.smile

Hope this helps.
