There once was an island named Britain
On whom many a history’s been written
Of England and Wales

There once was an island named Britain
On whom many a history`s been written
Of England and Wales
And old Scottish tales,

There once was an island named Britain
On whom many a history`s been written
Of England and Wales
And old Scottish tales,
From childhood I have been smittenU

There was a young laddie from Oban

There was a young laddie from Oban
Who tested his own haemoglobin

There was a young laddie from Oban
Who rode into town in a rickety old van (sorry, don't know how Oban is pronounced)

There was a young laddie from Oban
Who rode into town in a old van
He pulled on the brake

There was a young laddie from Oban
Who rode into town in a old van
He pulled on the brake
A turning to take

There was a young laddie from Oban
Who rode into town in a old van
He pulled on the brake
A turning to take

Who yelled "You should really know better"

Who yelled "You should really know better"
There's patience needed in delivering a letter

Who yelled "You should really know better"
There's patience needed in delivering a letter
If I should fail

Who yelled "You should really know better"
There's patience needed in delivering a letter
If I should fail
I might go to jail

Who yelled "You should really know better"
There's patience needed in delivering a letter
If I should fail
I might go to jail
And then who'll be there to greet her?

I saw a rainbow in the sky last week

I saw a rainbow in the sky last week
A bird flew from it with gold in its beak

I saw a rainbow in the sky last week
A bird flew from it with gold in its beak
And a ferret in fog

I saw a rainbow in the sky last week
A bird flew from it with gold in its beak
And a ferret in fog
And a mangy dog

I saw a rainbow in the sky last week
A bird flew from it with gold in it`s beak
And a ferret in fog
And a mangy dog
And a gardener with his giant leek.

It`s been extremely hot today
Too hot for me, I have to say

It's been extremely hot today
Too hot for me, I have to say
I had an iced lolly

It`s been extremely hot today
Too hot for me, I have to say
I had an ice lolly
Feeling so jolly,

It`s been extremely hot today
Too hot for me, I have to say
I had an ice lolly
Feeling so jolly,
I'll buy a freezer full - that's the way.

Should never have had that glass of wine

Should never have had that glass of wine
My antics now are tomorrow's headline

Should never have had that glass of wine
Especially as the glass was a German stein

?
Should never have had that glass of wine
My antics now are tomorrow's headline

Should never have had that glass of wine
My antics now are tomorrow's headline
I stood on my head
