1. Buttonhole is a flower to gentleman or lady wear on lapel for wedding - can cause a lot of angst depending on how closely you stick to tradition. I have a wedding etiquette book - whole chapter on buttonholes. Nothing on how to keep the peace.
2 Buttonhole is the hole you put the button through. I have a sewing machine that makes nice ones?
