Hello Again!?
Third thread here - too early for a Summer Time Special; especially considering the current weather ?️☔

Okay, here goes:
Who is your favourite comedian, and your least favourite?

grandMattie Mon 05-Jul-21 17:42:54

Never plan menus. Have value ideas of what to cook but often change.

Do you have a medal, e.g. MBE?

Bellanonna Mon 05-Jul-21 17:49:24

I don’t

Are you a pedant?

Grany Mon 05-Jul-21 17:52:14

Mollygo

Well I’m anti huge billboards for any purpose. If there’s too many, they’re a blot in the landscape. If they’re on motorways, they’re yet another distraction.
Who would choose what is posted on there? Posters on here don’t always agree about what is true and what isn’t.
Would it be those with the most money who would post their views or would there be a fair representation from different views?

Would there be pictures? I think that would, out of good manners, need the permission of the people portrayed.

Anyway-back to the thread title
My question: do you plan a menu for the week and then, when the weather changes, switch days round?

Here is the info for you Mollygo

Definitely a pedant, though I’m sure I miss some errors and commit others.

Eating out again? As much as before Covid or less?

BBbevan Mon 05-Jul-21 19:30:46

Never now.

Do you have an NHS dentist. There seem to be none in Wales

crazyH Mon 05-Jul-21 22:18:33

I still haven’t worked that one out. I pay for an appointment and I pay for work. So do NHS patients get free treatment.

Question : difference between private and NHS dentists

Savvy Tue 06-Jul-21 00:21:29

As far as I'm aware, NHS dentists have a fixed price structure for dental work and cannot charge outside the treatment bandings, private dentists can more or less charge what want.

Are you a lark or an owl?

biglouis Tue 06-Jul-21 01:06:31

Ive always been an owl- rarely go to bed before 2 am and sometimes up til 5! But Im retired so I can please myself.

After todays announcement will you go on wearing masks? Ive only worn one once (in a taxi) but I rarely go out.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 06-Jul-21 08:56:40

I think I'll wear a mask on the bus and maybe in the supermarket - I've noticed that social distancing seems to have gone by the board over the last week or two even though it's not official yet.

Do you have any childhood dreams which you still hanker after?

biglouis Tue 06-Jul-21 13:08:04

I would love to visit the Galapagos Islands to see the big tortoises and sea turtles. Ive always had a soft spot for tortoises and had them (normal sized) as pets.

Whats your favorite form of travel - air, sea or overland?

I much prefer overland because you get a sense of the country and people.

AGAA4 Tue 06-Jul-21 17:25:44

I prefer train travel as you do get to see more. Sea travel you see the sea and air travel mostly clouds.

Would you prefer to live in the countryside, on the coast or in a city or town?

BBbevan Tue 06-Jul-21 19:08:25

I live at / on the coast. Dislike towns and cities now.

Have you been to the cinema or theatre yet?

biglouis Tue 06-Jul-21 22:28:17

No, its many years since Ive been to the cinema as I dont drive.

Do you prefer baths or showers?
I prefer a shower as its quicker and wastes less water.

crazyH Wed 07-Jul-21 00:16:30

Showers, not through choice. Would prefer a nice long soak in a warm bath, but my knees won’t permit it

Nightdress or pyjamas ?

nanna8 Wed 07-Jul-21 00:18:59

Pjs in Winter plus socks
Nightdress summer

Fabric or leather furniture?

crazyH Wed 07-Jul-21 00:26:04

Leather, so easy to keep clean, but keep sharp objects away.

Any long term solutions for dry hair? I used to have glossy dark hair…..

biglouis Wed 07-Jul-21 13:22:04

Ive always had the opposite problem of greasy hair. You could try the olive oil treatment!

Have you ever had to stay in hospital?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 07-Jul-21 14:58:29

When I was a child I went in to have an operation on an eye. This was in the early 60s - I wasn't told what or why which was ridiculous.

For gardeners - would you have a white garden or border?

FannyCornforth Wed 07-Jul-21 20:36:19

I don't know what this means.
I do have a garden, and white flowers are my favourite.

Which country would you most like to live in, and why?

Mollygo Wed 07-Jul-21 21:01:59

France-du vin, du pain et du bon Boursin and I could still work and chat to people.
Failing that, the UK.

What do you do with your winter clothes in summer and vice versa?

biglouis Thu 08-Jul-21 00:06:26

Push them to the back of the wardrobe!

Have you ever been owned by a cat? I have a big ginger one who is training me up to be his PA.

Savvy Thu 08-Jul-21 01:30:10

Oh yes! Two of them. Loved them to bits, but knew who was the boss and it wasn't me, lol.

Do you sleep later at the weekend?

travelsafar Thu 08-Jul-21 12:29:03

Not usually, i did when younger after a week of full time work.

What have you done that is different today?

DanniRae Thu 08-Jul-21 12:36:19

Nothing much but when I went to the park with the dog we did walk clockwise around the pond instead of anticlockwise grin

Where would you rather be right now?

Savvy Thu 08-Jul-21 15:06:32

In bed - asleep. I had to get up early to let the builders in so I've only had a couple of hours sleep and it's catching up with me now.

Are you getting fed up with the recent topsy turvy weather we're having?
