Hello Again!?
Third thread here - too early for a Summer Time Special; especially considering the current weather ?️☔

Okay, here goes:
Who is your favourite comedian, and your least favourite?

hollysteers Sun 15-Aug-21 20:57:20

No, but I would love a campervan. I drive but don’t enjoy it.
I should have married a campervanman?

Do you get rid of old make up but carry on using it?

crazyH Sun 15-Aug-21 22:50:57

Carry on using it because there’s no ‘use by’ date on them …..

Do you use a spreadsheet or handwritten ‘diary’ where you enter daily expenses.?

DanniRae Mon 16-Aug-21 09:17:48

I use a page- a- day diary but not for expenses ......... I enjoy keeping a record of my life and love rereading it years later smile or sometimes sad

What was the most amazing and surprising moment of your life?
Mine was a few years ago when out of the blue on an ordinary day my 45 year old daughter and her partner arrived to say that she was pregnant. This was to be my first grandchild and he is now a very precious 2 year old! gringrin

hollysteers Mon 16-Aug-21 11:41:59

Having my first child. True for many women I expect.
I didn’t consider myself particularly maternal or wanting a baby, thinking about my career, but that topped the bill.

Do you ever decide to just spend the day in bed?

biglouis Mon 16-Aug-21 12:39:49

Only when Im ill or needing to catch up on sleep. I have a nephew who sometimes spends the day in bed. I dont see the attraction.

If you could choose to live in any country (other than your own) what would it be? I would probably choose the USA as I worked there for a year.

Bellanonna Mon 16-Aug-21 13:23:56

France or Italy, though if temperatures have really been that high in Italy, I might choose Iceland. It’s a lovely country, but expensive.

Are you an emotional person or able to remain cool and calm?

crazyH Mon 16-Aug-21 13:39:47

Very emotional, anxious person

Do you always go abroad for your holidays ?

GoldenLady Mon 16-Aug-21 14:00:58

No, but occasionally I do.

Is there any quality particular to your country that leaves you tearing your hair out in frustration?

crazyH Mon 16-Aug-21 17:29:48

Rich get richer, poor get poorer

Do you tend to try home-remedies first instead of rushing to your GP ?

Mollygo Mon 16-Aug-21 17:40:34

If soda bicarbonate, antihistamines, Savlon, painkillers or a heat pack don’t work, I try the GP. I used to try the pharmacy first, but since it’s been under new management it’s a waste of time. Go in, tell him the problem and what you’ve already tried for a week and he recommends the same thing.

Similar idea, do you have a favourite remedy for a particular ailment?

BBbevan Mon 16-Aug-21 18:18:59

Indigestion: half glass of water, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and one of bicarbonate. Stir and drink.

Looking forward to winter?

crazyH Mon 16-Aug-21 21:43:52

Yes - the dark mornings give me an excuse to have a lie-in

Be honest - have you broken lockdown rules ?(I won’t tell ?)

GoldenLady Tue 17-Aug-21 00:15:33

A few days ago, I was visiting a friend who lives in a large, hi-rise building which has a very fussy, nervous manager. There was a sign on the front door, saying, "Please wear a mask and gloves!"

I had put the mask away, but the delta variant came along, so I did put it back on for the 2 seconds it took me to get up to my friend's condo... but I absolutely refuse to wear gloves. Why on earth? No one is even recommending that!

hollysteers Tue 17-Aug-21 00:33:04

No.

Do you try new recipes or stick to tried and tested?

biglouis Tue 17-Aug-21 02:36:15

I like my life to be predictable so I stick with tried and tested.

If you could go back and choose would you be a different gender than the one you were assigned at birth?

I would choose to be male if i could go back and have the choice.

BBbevan Tue 17-Aug-21 08:09:57

Never wanted to be other than female.

What was the worst thing you did after thinking ‘well I’ll try that’ ?

biglouis Tue 17-Aug-21 12:45:04

Smoking after following instructions and learning to enhale. I was very sick and felt dreadful! It put me off for life. Its fair to say it was a hen night and Id had a few drinks.

Have you even gone out with your bag/purse but no money in it?

crazyH Tue 17-Aug-21 13:50:38

No, but I have gone out with top and tights, but no skirt. ?reached the top of the road and felt the fraught ???

Although you love all your grandchildren, do you have a special place in your heart for the first one ?

crazyH Tue 17-Aug-21 13:51:47

Draught, not fraught

DanniRae Tue 17-Aug-21 16:32:10

I have a grandson from my daughter and a granddaughter from my son and I truly love them both the same. We waited a long time for grandchildren and they are so precious to us smile

DanniRae Tue 17-Aug-21 16:33:27

What is your favourite film ever? How many times have you watched it?

Bellanonna Tue 17-Aug-21 18:17:52

Lots of films I’ve enjoyed. But having spent several holidays at Lyme Regis when the girls were young, I enjoyed the French Lieutenant’s Woman.

Same question please

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 17-Aug-21 19:18:11

Soppy I know, but I love The Sound of Music and have seen it a few times on the telly.

Have any of the 'old girls' at your school done anything unusual? One of ours plays the flute in an Australian orchestra.

biglouis Tue 17-Aug-21 23:46:47

Not to my knowledge as I am only in touch with one old school friend. I went to school back in the 1950s!

Do you have a favorite grandchild (or other young relative) that you have to strive not to treat differently than the rest?

I prefer one of my great nephews to his brother but try not to show it.

DanniRae Wed 18-Aug-21 07:25:54

I only have one nephew and one niece - I am very fond of my nephew but have no time for my niece. I know why but choose not to put it on here!

I would have loved to have had a sister. Are you glad that you had a sister?
