Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

DanniRae Mon 15-Nov-21 08:38:20

Who is your favourite poet?
(Mine is Pam Ayres)

AGAA4 Mon 15-Nov-21 15:26:39

I like quite a few including Pam Ayres. Rudyard Kipling's poem If is one of my favourites.

Do you sometimes feel you could be doing more?

crazyH Mon 15-Nov-21 16:48:05

Physically, oh yes, oh yes - done nothing today. A ‘cold virus’ is my excuse. Feed a cold and starve a fever, is my mantra. Soup, pulled beef and leicester cheese sandwiches, stollen bites, and vermicelli sweet - greedy day ?

Bellanonna Mon 15-Nov-21 18:53:23

Question Crazy?

crazyH Mon 15-Nov-21 23:47:40

Sorry
Wasn’t feeling too good today, so forgot xx
Has anyone had any reaction to the Covid Booster ?

crazyH Mon 15-Nov-21 23:53:07

And don’t tell me I should eat less ?

AGAA4 Tue 16-Nov-21 06:36:39

I won't CrazyH you do need to feed that cold.
I am having my booster in 2 weeks and hoping for no reaction.
Do you get up early in the morning?

Mollygo Tue 16-Nov-21 07:31:23

I certainly did this morning. Instead of having her crazy time around 6-7 in the evening our mutt decided to celebrate at 6.15. She’s so loving and doesn’t mind if I curse all the way downstairs to let her out. She also didn’t care that it was so foggy I couldn’t see her running around on the grass. Hopefully she performed! I’m not going out to look until I can find it by sight, not by treading on it.

What’s your weather like today?

Bellanonna Tue 16-Nov-21 09:43:42

Sunny in the South East

Are you enjoying the lovely autumn colours?

henetha Tue 16-Nov-21 10:13:39

Yes, the trees around here are all becoming colourful. It's abeautiful sight.

Do you make lists? Shopping lists, to do lists?
I do, all the time.

BBbevan Tue 16-Nov-21 10:22:24

I am the Queen of lists. It is so satisfying when you can cross something off. At the moment there is a Sainsbury’s list, a general shopping list , a Christmas present list, and a to do today list on the table. Already ticked four off the last one.

Do you have nicely arranged book shelves?

ginny Tue 16-Nov-21 10:28:15

No, all my books are in neatly stashed in drawers in a spare bedroom.

Do you have anything you have made yourself on show in your home ?
I have paintings, patchwork, crochet, cushions ad various other things. At Christmas there are lots of hand made ( by me )
decorations.

AGAA4 Tue 16-Nov-21 11:18:04

ginny I wish I was as artistic as you. I did have an owl that I made in pottery class but it disappeared when I moved house.

Do you have your milk delivered?

FannyCornforth Tue 16-Nov-21 12:27:13

By Ocado or Morrison’s, not a milkman.
I bought far too much by accident this week and have had to freeze it, I’ve never done so before, which seamlessly leads me to…

Do you freeze milk? Does it defrost ok?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 16-Nov-21 16:11:29

Yes I started freezing small cartons of milk as I get through a lot, being a 'teeaholic' - the small ones don't take up too much space and I put them on the draining board overnight to thaw. I give it a good shake before pouring.

To those who have asked about the booster jab - I had mine on Saturday and thus far nothing to report. I gave my body a jolly stiff talking to - that it had better not get any side effects if it knew what was good for it. Mind over matter and all that.

Do you ever give yourself a damn good talking to?

Mollygo Tue 16-Nov-21 16:57:03

Oh yes! Usually when I look out if the window and my body says it’s too cold to go and aqua fit. I tell myself to get my cozzy on and go. I remind it that I’ve taken up a space someone else might have wanted.

It’s soup making time of year again. What’s your favourite?

BBbevan Tue 16-Nov-21 17:14:56

End of week soup. All the unused veg plus lentils and herbs. Usually turns out orangey though I did once make a very unappetising dark khaki.

My MiL used to dry left over bread in the oven and then make breadcrumbs. Do you do anything so labour intensive ?

hollysteers Tue 16-Nov-21 18:51:49

Used to make chicken soup with the carcass, plus bread and butter pudding with left over stale bread.
The most labour intensive thing I am doing at the moment is make endless smoothies with the piles of very small apples from the garden and freezing them.

Do you believe in the power of prayer?

ginny Tue 16-Nov-21 20:51:41

No.

Do you have a lucky charm that you always carry ?
I don’t but a have a couple of small items that are special and are always in my bag.

crazyH Wed 17-Nov-21 00:24:26

My rosary

What time will you be turning in?

henetha Wed 17-Nov-21 10:50:29

About 11pm. But then I read for an hour.

Is life now pretty much how you thought it would turn out?
Are you content with it?

FannyCornforth Wed 17-Nov-21 10:53:33

Lord no. Not at all.
It could be a lot worse, but it could (should) be a lot better too. Ah well

Tell me about your Christmas decorations plans please
The young couple (saying that makes me feel old!) have got their tree up already, bless ‘em smile

FannyCornforth Wed 17-Nov-21 10:54:11

Young couple opposite ie t’other side of road

henetha Wed 17-Nov-21 10:59:27

I haven't given any thought to Christmas decorations yet.
But I will unpack my old artificial tree with the paper fairy on top, and hang up the usual gold and red balls etc. Also hang various things around the house. Oh, and I bought some pretty lights last year so I will definitely use those.
I might even buy more lights.

Is your main meal at lunchtime, or early evening?

AGAA4 Wed 17-Nov-21 11:02:30

Early evening for me.

Will you spend Christmas at home?
