Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

BBbevan Wed 24-Nov-21 18:53:03

Depends what sort of roads you will drive on. Well lit, I would say yes, country lanes, no.

Do you enjoy doing crossword, sudoku etc ?

Shinamae Wed 24-Nov-21 22:33:27

Yes, far too much

Going for dinner with Jack Nicholson or Al Pacino?

henetha Thu 25-Nov-21 10:06:53

Not overly keen on either, but Jack Nicholson if I had to.

Are you planning a holiday abroad soon?

AGAA4 Thu 25-Nov-21 11:14:03

No but I have been thinking about it more lately.

Do you have a dog or cat?

hollysteers Thu 25-Nov-21 11:33:43

I have what I call a semi detached cat. One of twins next door, they don’t mind and I feed them when they are away. She has been a blessing during lockdown.

Do you have a co-worker you still miss even though she have not seen each other for years?
(A kind colleague who encouraged my love of art)

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 25-Nov-21 14:52:00

Yes, there are quite a few colleagues over the years who I was friendly with but sadly, we've lost touch. I often wonder how they've got on since.

Have you bought an Advent calendar so that you can enjoy a naughty nibble each day?

BBbevan Thu 25-Nov-21 15:31:34

No but one for DH and it is SiL birthday soon so got him an amazing cake one. He loves fruit cake so I sure he will love it.

I went out today with just four things to get. Came back with four large bags full and had spent £60

Do you ever do that?

AGAA4 Thu 25-Nov-21 15:47:21

I do and sometimes forget one of the things I went out for.

Do you get up early?

Billybob4491 Thu 25-Nov-21 15:47:38

BB - yes I do it all the time,

Are you happy where you live?

BBbevan Thu 25-Nov-21 17:44:23

Two answers. I always wake at 6 and then read . Get up around 8
Absolutely love where I live.

BBbevan Thu 25-Nov-21 17:45:34

Sorry far finger syndrome

I eat lots of nuts. Mostly almonds and walnuts.
Do you like nuts?

Ali08 Thu 25-Nov-21 19:51:38

I grew up in the countryside where we climbed all sorts of trees. Nut season was one of my favourite times. Stretching out for the farthest nuts, trying not to break our necks. Then crunching on them to break the shells - I'm surprised I have any teeth left!!
We also had a wild garden in our neighbourhood where we picked redcurrants, goosegogs and Lord knows what else. Crab apple trees just up the road, at the edge of a field, and blackberries & raspberries growing wild down the hill!
Today's children miss out on a lot of outdoor fun.
Yes, I LOVE nuts (I am one), unfortunately I have stomach problems and can have very few nuts these days ??

What do you miss about your childhood that you wish you could share with your grandchildren?

AGAA4 Thu 25-Nov-21 19:55:45

The freedom. Few cars on the roads then and safe to go off to the fields and woods with friends and play for hours.

Do you have curtains or blinds in your house?

Mollygo Thu 25-Nov-21 20:07:20

Both. Vertical blinds to keep the sun off my furniture -you can angle them any direction and curtains to keep the rooms warm.

Do you eat ice-cream even in winter?

crazyH Thu 25-Nov-21 21:05:04

Only in Summer……..the ice cream van comes round every Sunday and I’ve got to have a ‘99Flake’. I keep a tub of Mackies of Scotland Vanilla in my Freezer, and dip into it, now and then.

Do your children show interest in seeing old family/friend photographs ? My daughter likes to see the old albums, but sons, not so much ?

ginny Thu 25-Nov-21 22:25:46

Yes all 3 of my DDs like to see family photos and one of them is starting to investigate ancestors.

So, have you or any of your family investigated your family tree ?

hollysteers Thu 25-Nov-21 23:44:49

Yes, but Ancestry test disappointingly as I think only people who have registered themselves come up.

What were your absolute best and worst subjects at school?
(Best, Art and English, worst, maths. I also had a lovely singing voice inherited from my mother, but no one took any notice of that…)

Mollygo Fri 26-Nov-21 10:33:33

Best -French, English, Maths and Music. Worst Chemistry.

Do you find ‘Unsubscribe’ stops emails? I’ve unsubscribed from so many firms recently but the emails still arrive!

henetha Fri 26-Nov-21 10:47:07

I agree. I have never succeeded in unsubscribing. It doesn't work.

Do you feed the garden birds regularly in winter? Or all year round?

TillyTrotter Fri 26-Nov-21 11:10:43

No, it would be unfair to as we have a cat.
However neighbours all around so, so I know they are fed.
We provide their home in our bushes where the (old) cat can’t reach them ?

Q. Are you confident of driving in falling snow?
(I don’t the swirling draws my eyes in ❄️ )

BBbevan Fri 26-Nov-21 11:32:46

No I don’t drive now at all. My eyesight is bad.

Just finished all my shopping for Christmas gifts. How are you doing?

AGAA4 Fri 26-Nov-21 12:08:02

Only bought a few but will have it all sorted soon.

Are you worried about the new variant? I try not to be as there is nothing I can do about it apart from staying careful.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 26-Nov-21 15:33:41

Same as you AGAA4, what's the point of worrying? Apart from continuing to be careful about mask-wearing and hand-washing there's little else we can do.

Do you like your first name? Do you share it with many others? There were three of us in our class, later a colleague's child, a neighbour and a grandparent share mine.

BBbevan Fri 26-Nov-21 15:52:09

My first name was very unusual before 1960. I only ever met one girl with the same name before then. Now there are quite a few. I have always liked my name

Do you like your or might you like to change it?

biglouis Fri 26-Nov-21 16:06:38

I used to think I might like to change it when I was a kid but now Im quite happy with it.

Have you ever ignored someone at the door because you just couldnt be bothered with them?

I was on my way up for my nap yesterday when a NDN who is a known whinger knocked. I ignored her and went for my nap. She had no way of knowing whether I was in or out as the houses are detached.
