Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

AGAA4 Thu 27-Jan-22 13:47:41

I was 20 and left when I married.

How long have you been or were you married/ had a partner for?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 27-Jan-22 13:33:02

Being widowed I've no choice but to investigate things myself. Late DH mostly slept through, being a heavy sleeper. Luckily the worst incidents I can recall was a strange cat jumping through the cat flap who had to be coaxed out and the loft hatch blowing open with a bang.

Hoe old were you when you left home?

Ali08 Thu 27-Jan-22 11:45:14

Thank you, FannyCornforth & BBbevan xx

Ooh, I'm on the fence about the jury duty. I guess it all depends on how mature the teenager is, and what the case is about!

If you were sleeping peacefully during the night and woke to a sudden loud noise, would you investigate it yourself, send your partner, wait it out til morning or call someone?

hollysteers Thu 27-Jan-22 11:16:06

Use the lot, electric blanket, hot water bottles, extra throw and halogen heaters even with central heating (not all at once). It’s cold here in the dunes facing the Irish Ocean ?

Do you think 18 is too young for jury service?
(I do having served on one)

henetha Thu 27-Jan-22 10:23:47

No. I hate them. They are either so scary that I can't sleep for days afterwards, or so silly as to be laughable. So I never watch them these days.

Do you ever have a hot water bottle? Or an electric blanket?
Do you put extra bedding on in winter?

BBbevan Thu 27-Jan-22 10:02:58

Fanny Different sandwich for each person depending on their personality I suppose. My son named them thus in his teens. He always comes up with different names for things

Disney film ‘Cinderella’

Do you like horror films?

FannyCornforth Thu 27-Jan-22 09:23:10

Oh, forgot my question

Favourite Disney film?
Mine is Lady and the Tramp

FannyCornforth Thu 27-Jan-22 09:22:17

BBbevan that sounds scrumptious, but why do you call it a Personality?

Weather: I like weather that no one else seems to.
Grey; wet; windy; drizzly; cold. I also love a good storm, but less so now as it upsets Gracie, and we can’t have that.

I don’t like any hint of heat and hate bright light.
Summer is massive sensory overload for me.

AGAA4 Thu 27-Jan-22 09:16:51

If I can see some light coming into the room I just get up. If it is still dark I check the time to make sure it's after 6am before I get out of bed.

What is your ideal sort of weather?

BBbevan Thu 27-Jan-22 06:19:42

What we in our house call a Personality.
Wholesale bread, lettuce, cheeses, tomato, avocado, ham, cucumber , more lettuce and anything else to hand.

What is the very first thing you do when you wake up.
? Me, I always look at my clock. It could be anytime between 3 and 6.

FannyCornforth Thu 27-Jan-22 03:53:48

I honestly don’t know! I’m probably the worst travelled person on GN!
I’ll go with York Minster, which I honestly think is an absolute masterpiece

Favourite sandwich?

hollysteers Wed 26-Jan-22 20:22:57

Never stayed in an Airbnb, I love hotels too much.

Name one place in the world you feel everyone should see before they die?
(Egypt, followed by Jerusalem)

biglouis Wed 26-Jan-22 14:26:24

I am a wash and go person. I have long hair and have not visited a hairdresser in years.

Have you ever stayed in an airbnb?

The original idea was to stay as a guest in someone elses house and I would never have fancied that. It would not have been private enough for me.I like and anonymity of a hotel.

BBbevan Wed 26-Jan-22 14:13:36

Definitely this year, but getting a little better.

Are you a wash and go person with your hair, or do you spend ages with different products and a hair dryer. ? I have always been the former, and I hate hairdressing salons

AGAA4 Wed 26-Jan-22 11:29:00

I have 2 pairs. Knee length ones and ankle ones. We can get a lot of snow here sometimes.

Do you sometimes get the January blues?

henetha Wed 26-Jan-22 11:01:02

Lots of paper and pens and coloured pencils.
And face moisturiser.

Do you own a pair of wellington boots? If so, do you wear them sometimes? I only wear mine if there is a lot of snow.

FannyCornforth Wed 26-Jan-22 10:37:42

This one? ? I know what you mean

hollysteers Wed 26-Jan-22 10:30:30

I can’t find the emoji I dislike, but it’s a corny self embrace, too sickly for me.

What is your desert island luxury?
(Pillow and cashmere blanket)

FannyCornforth Wed 26-Jan-22 06:36:49

Yes. Wenlock, Clee, Malvern, and one or two more that I can’t remember ?
I was in Wenlock

Which emoji gets on your goat?
I hate this one: ?

BBbevan Wed 26-Jan-22 06:27:33

Favourite accent ……Welsh.
Question above

BBbevan Wed 26-Jan-22 06:23:52

I take no medication and have no diabetic symptoms. My blood sugar levels are normal and have been for the last six years. I eat a low carb diet.

North and South was a favourite of mine.

Did you have ‘houses’ at school.? Mine was green ‘Tudor’

NotAGran55 Wed 26-Jan-22 06:19:40

I loved Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.

What is your favourite accent? Mine is Geordie.

FannyCornforth Wed 26-Jan-22 06:07:06

I hope that you feel much better soon Alibrew
I think that reversed diabetic might mean that you have managed to ‘cure’ yourself but have to keep yourself in check so as not to become diabetic again.

I always get DH a card.
I will probably dress the dog up in something ‘Valentine-y’, take a photo of her and make one on Moonpig.

A question that Grandpajo asked upthread: what is your all time favourite TV series?

Ali08 Wed 26-Jan-22 05:43:37

I have never looked good in hats, which is just as well as I hate wearing them for more than a couple of minutes!
No, I seldom feel the cold unless I'm ill. I'm self isolating right now, and have felt very shivery, then hot, then normal etc.

Will you be sending out any Valentine's cards or gifts next month?

Ali08 Wed 26-Jan-22 05:32:54

BBbevan

Not allowed any of those as reversed diabetic. But mashed potato if pushed.

Is there anything you cannot eat?

What's a reversed diabetic, please?
