I'm very casual at home. Soft fleecy trousers with jumpers in winter and t-shirts in summer.
(The question before, - Battenberg cake... I love it.)

Do you have good local shops which you like to support?

Yes, good shops in the village, although not within walking distance. First rate cheese shop.

Are you happy in your current house?

I have been thinking of moving for some time but dread the upheaval which is too much at my age. I dont like change. There is a lot about the area I like except my whinger of an NDN whom I ignore.

Do you have any jobs in the home that youve been putting off because it was cold and dark?

I have an electrician coming tomorrow to replace a light fitting and no doubt he will find something else he needs to do. I hate work people under my feet.

No excuse here, it is hot and light but I am waiting for cooler weather to get the greenhouse going again and do some planting.

Your favourite native wild animal ?

Can I say a bird? I love robins and I am always thrilled when I see one in my garden.
Non native animal? I just adore donkeys and if I was lucky enough to have a field I would love to have a couple of rescue ones. If my garden was big enough I would also have some ex battery hens - to see them being able to peck about freely would make me very happy

Are you an animal lover? (I expect that you have guessed that I am!)

Not particularly, but I love my semi detached cat (shared with next door) lockdown would have been miserable without her.
My favourite animal is a horse as there have been horses in the family since time immemorial, although I didn’t grow up with them.

Are you religious?

Used to be, but not any more, unfortunately. I envy people with faith.

Do you name inanimate objects? Like your car, for instance, or your fridge etc.?

My car has a name but I haven't named anything else.

Have you had one of these horrible colds that are on the go? Mine has lasted almost 2 weeks.

I haven’t had a really bad cold since I gave up teaching infants in 2006 ???

Are you allergic to any foods?

Wholewheat products…..irritates my lungs.

Other than Vodka, I can’t think of anything made in Russia, that I buy on a regular basis. Can you?

I don’t drink vodka so don’t buy it, but let’s all buy Chicken Kiev

Are you hoping for a really hot summer or just a warm, rain free one ?

Warm and rain free for me please! I can't stand really hot weather.

Can you sleep in very hot weather? I have to decamp to our spare bedroom because I can have a window open - I can't do that in our bedroom because it's on a busy road and too noisy!

I don’t mind hot weather at night too much, but prefer going to bed in the winter.

Do you have green fingers?

Not really but we have lovely soil here so things do grow.

I am having a very rare day on my own today. Lots planned and I am looking forward to it.

What would you do ?

I have many days on my own and find lots to do. If the weather is not bad I will find somewhere pleasant to walk or go to the town for a browse round the shops. If it's wet and cold I love to curl up with a good book, write in my journal or do puzzles. Maybe bake.

Will you buy new summer clothes?

Very few, if any. I'm not buying any clothes right now and hope not to in the future. Only when essential, or if the urge is overwhelming.

I'm sorting out things, including clothes, for local charity shops today. And will put aside anything useful for Ukraine.
Do you regularly give things to charity shops? Any particular favourite?

Most of the charity shops here are pretty picky what they take and I have no transport. I like British Heart Foundation but give stuff away on Freecycle if they wont take it.

If you were meeting someone outside and they were late how long would you wait before giving up?

I would give it no longer than about 20 minutes depending upon whether they called to say they were on their way or left me standing.

Depending on the weather, probably about the same as you biglouis. Less time if there was no shelter.

A friend keeps giving me her hand-made patchwork items. I do like them, but I get a guilt complex about offering nothing in return. What would you do?

If I had no call or text to say they were running late I would wait 15 minutes then get in touch with them. If no reply then maybe another 10 minutes.

Has a bird ever flown into your house? I had left the door open to hang out washing and a robin flew in. It took us ages to get him out again.

Just say thank you and make sure they are on display when she visits. Do you make cakes, or jam or such things that you could give her in return?

We have quite a good bus service here but we still drive into town. Should we be doing that?

AGAA4, not into my house, but a sparrow once played havoc with my lessons. The bird was far more interesting than even my teaching!?
BBBevan, no we shouldn’t, especially if we have a bus pass. Using the buses means we won’t lose them.
Guiltily on an afternoon off, I’ve just driven 11 miles into town and back just because I wanted to be there and back before all the children came out. I could have gone by bus.
What’s your favourite children/young adult author either from now or your childhood?

I like Lynly Dodd who writes Hairy McLary stories. My 2 year old grandson loves Slinky Malinky.

If you could have the meal you really want tonight what would it be?

I’m having it. DH has just left to get fish and chips. We haven’t had that in months and we have had a stressful day today. Car problems. So a treat is in order.

Do you have a long washing line or a whirly thing. ?

Neither, I just take out a large plastic fold up drying thingy, plus old fashioned wooden towel rail and bring them back in.
