I look like my great grandmother. There was a picture of her on the wall at my grandma's. She died quite young.

Do you have memories from when you were very young?

I was talking yesterday to DH about this yesterday.
I remember sitting on my Nan’s draining board, being washed in the sink.
How old would I have been I wonder? 2,3?

What is your earliest memory?

My Dad and Grandma ( maternal) having an argument. I was wearing a red coat and hat and matching leggings..I think I was around 2.

Did you go to Brownies or Girl Guides?

Plaster casts-earliest memory. I was about 2-3, but they hampered my playing!

Only spent a little time at Brownies in the bluetit patrol.
Wasn’t for me.

Do you talk to yourself?

Sometimes tell myself off as in "come on Aga get off the sofa and do something useful!"

Yes, quite a lot really. And I talk to Wiggy , which is the same as talking to myself.

Have you unpacked your summer clothes yet?

Yes ,just yesterday. Wash and iron them next.

Do you leave just a few winter clothes, just in case?

My winter clothes are never far away as there are some chilly summer days too.

Do you wear dresses in summer or mostly trousers/skirts and tops?

When it's very hot I wear dresses as I find them cooler and more comfortable.

When cooking do you use metric or imperial measurements?

Imperial, but now it’s just me here, I don’t do much cooking.

Do you prefer to drive or be driven?

Drive every time-or share the driving on a long trip!

Have you planted out any bedding plants yet? The supermarkets and garden centres are full of them.

No , we only plant what will grow again the next year. We have such a large garden that we try to limit planting.

DH is out weeding. He loves it, getting everything neat and tidy. Do you have a favourite garden job?

I used to love mowing. The smell of a newly mown lawn is lovely. We have communal gardens now so a gardener does all the work.

What are your favourite summer flowers?

Definitely sweetpeas and roses but I also love nemesis and heliotrope.

Yes, before my last knee replacement, and for just a few weeks afterwards. I'm thinking about it again as I feel a bit wobbly at times.

A nice young man has just cut the grass today, and he also does the windows. Do you have reliable help with these things, and any other help, cleaners, decorators etc?

Yes, I have someone to cut the grass, once a fortnight, a window cleaner once every few weeks and a cleaner, once a fortnight (because I am allergic to house dust etc). I am allergic to housework, full stop.

Question : were you born in hospital or at home ? I was born at home, youngest of 9 children.

I was born in a nursing home. My mum wouldn't go into hospital as her earlier baby died as the breech birth wasn't handled properly.

Do you remember your first day at school?

I met a girl who is still a friend now. But my astonishment at having to walk over half a mile across a main road and down a street, to get to the dining hall was only equalled by being made to lie down on a camp bed for a rest in the afternoon!

What about anyone else’s first day?

My first day at school I was terrified! The school seemed huge and I’d never spent anytime anywhere away from my mother ?

Red, which figures as it’s my star sign colour (load of bunkum?)

Do you ever get up early just for fun? I was awake at 6 this morning, so I decided to go into work for an hour and get some paperwork done and printed, even though I’m not teaching today! Feels good.
