Hello! ?

By my reckoning, this thread will see us through until we are near to C********!

SachaMac’s question was ‘if you could travel back to any time or place for one day, where / when would it be’?

I’m still mulling it over…

biglouis Sun 21-Aug-22 13:24:51

I like pepperoni. I also like Hawaiian.

Did you go to sunday school (or equivalent) when you were a kid?

I went for many years.

Not for any religious reasons. I used to enjoy the stories and collecting text cards. To me Jesus was just like a character in a book. My best friend was rarely allowed out except to go to sunday school and we used to play along the way. Sometimes we even bunked off!

MrsKen33 Mon 22-Aug-22 05:24:30

Yes Idid, until I was about twelve I think. Bit of a chore by then.

We you a Brownie or a Guide?

FannyCornforth Mon 22-Aug-22 06:07:14

Yes, both. I didn’t last long though. Not my sort of thing. As an only child, I didn’t really like being in a team. I definitely knew my own mind - I still can’t stand that sort of thing. Or uniforms

Are you enjoying GN at the moment?
I’m not; but I’m persevering

FannyCornforth Mon 22-Aug-22 06:08:06

MrsKen I stopped going to church then too.

AGAA4 Mon 22-Aug-22 07:11:54

GN can be hard going at times and seems to be less fun than years ago.

Same question please.

MrsKen33 Mon 22-Aug-22 07:41:51

Not enjoying it really. I start a lot of posts and delete them .Can’t be a***d. Just dip in to one or two posts.

Same please

Mollygo Mon 22-Aug-22 09:32:20

Not really. There are a few posts which offer really good advice e.g. the TATT thread, or gardening threads and some which I enjoy reading, but don’t post on because the contributors all seem to know each other so well. (Silly reason I know).
I never join the threads on which I am ordered to “discuss” - or limited in what I can say by the OP ‘rules’ - a bit too reminiscent of a very controlling friend.

Mollygo Mon 22-Aug-22 09:32:38

Same question again please.

henetha Mon 22-Aug-22 09:59:34

I still enjoy GN . But I am a bit wary, especially of some fierce posters. I would miss it though, if it died. So long live GN.

Any special plans for today? Something interesting?

Mollygo Mon 22-Aug-22 10:19:41

Collect GC and go for a long walk along the estuary with the dog. DD, who is working has just rung me to say they are up and dressed and raring to go.

If you have one, how often do you wash your car?

hollysteers Mon 22-Aug-22 14:17:11

I don’t have a regular routine, just when I think it looks grubby and I take it through the car wash. DD and late DH wouldn’t dream of that, always done by themselves.

Same question please.

HowVeryDareYou Mon 22-Aug-22 14:20:56

I try to keep the interior tidy, but don't wash the outside very often. I'm scrapping this car soon, anyway, so it's hardly worth washing it.

Do you wear high heels?

Mine Mon 22-Aug-22 14:32:00

I never wear high heels....If I'm going anywhere special I have sandals with a small block heel for warmer days and boots with a block heel for winter...I wear trainers, flaties and toe post sandals all year.
.
Had to have my tooth taken out this morning as filling that I'd had for over 20 years came out and it couldn't be root treatedsad

When we're you last at the dentist??

AGAA4 Mon 22-Aug-22 14:39:26

Last week for my regular checkup. I do need a filling and as they are so busy I have to wait till October

Are you concerned about the waiting times for medical appointments?

HowVeryDareYou Mon 22-Aug-22 17:15:55

I've had lots of medical appointments since my stroke a year ago, so I've been lucky, I think. My brother had his 1st hospital appointment last Friday, and is having his operation in just over 2 week's time. It's excellent, I reckon.

Can you touch your toes? (I can)

biglouis Mon 22-Aug-22 17:21:44

No - not for many years. Too arthritic!

Did you watch Game of Thrones and are you going to watch House of Dragons?

I loved GOF but found the first episode of HOD a bit slow. Perhaps it will grow on me.

I love SF and fantasy.

SachaMac Mon 22-Aug-22 19:42:27

Absolutely loved Game of Thrones, was late getting into it but AC recommended and I was hooked. Caught up by buying the boxed sets. Will definitely try House of Dragons.

Did you watch Stranger Things? I enjoyed that too.

AGAA4 Mon 22-Aug-22 19:46:09

Yes. It was excellent. Sorry when it ended.

What types of series do you watch? Mostly thrillers for me.

crazyH Mon 22-Aug-22 20:05:20

Thrillers for me too and favourite is True Crime. I don’t know how many versions of the Watts case, I have watched !!! How could a SuperDad murder his entire family? Fell in love with another woman ? Another nice true thriller to watch is Hotel Cecil

If you had a choice would you watch a Conedy Film or a Docu-drama. Docudrama for me always.

HowVeryDareYou Mon 22-Aug-22 20:06:53

I like a good drama.

What's your favourite pub meal?

Mine Mon 22-Aug-22 22:24:13

My favourite pub meal would have to be steak pie mash and veg...For dessert apple crumble and custard...

What is your favourite pub meal?

MrsKen33 Tue 23-Aug-22 04:50:26

Scampi and chips with tartare sauce.

What do you drink when out.? I love a ginger beer shandy. Not as some pubs seem to think ,ginger beer and lemonade, but lager and ginger beer.

SachaMac Tue 23-Aug-22 08:14:48

A glass of dry white wine or if I’m thirsty a nice craft beer.

What snack would you choose with your drink at the pub. Salted peanuts for me every time.

hollysteers Tue 23-Aug-22 09:41:09

Cheese and onion crisps.

Does having to watch subtitles for a film bother you?

henetha Tue 23-Aug-22 09:47:42

No, I'm used to it and often use them. (suspect I might possibly be going slightly deaf!)

Do you have a local pub which you support?
