GAMES SEPARATE SECTION

Just come on to GN. Out of the 58 subjects 41 are games. Does this not warrant a separate section?

NotSpaghetti Sun 22-Oct-23 11:14:10

Yes yes yes!

NotSpaghetti Sun 22-Oct-23 11:15:00

I would like to be able to hide "whole sections " too.

I do like looking at the games but they are becoming overwhelming and also think they would be better in a separate section.

👍

Ilovecheese Sun 22-Oct-23 11:23:07

Oh yes please

Oldbat1 Sun 22-Oct-23 12:56:56

I hide the discussions immediately if i see one but can only do so on my phone!

Oldbat1 Sun 22-Oct-23 12:57:19

I just ignore them.

Let's hope someone at HQ takes this on board.

We have asked and asked over the ten eleven years I ve been on Grandnet but it’s never been allowed it’s a total annoyance you have to learn to live with it
For every thread you hide it’s back the next day

Maybe it needs re naming "Gamesnet" hmm

Takes me ages back and forth to delete.

Ali08 Mon 23-Oct-23 10:53:46

Limericks definitely need their own section as they're taking over the games!!
But games are in a different section, just as everything else is, ie AIBU, Ask A Gran, Arts & Crafts etc!

Witzend Mon 23-Oct-23 10:56:23

Yes!

PamelaJ1 Mon 23-Oct-23 13:30:55

Agree

Or at least provide the hide function in the desktop site.

Ali08 Wed 25-Oct-23 07:04:54

Are you all using laptops or something? I'm on an Androud phone and everything is separate for me. Like in here, where this comment started, is actually 'GAMES'! Wouldn't it have been better to put it in 'AIBU'?

fancythat Wed 25-Oct-23 07:15:27

I have been on this site since Jan this year.
I think I may have seen this asked about 6 times in that time?

I dont suppose this ask will make any difference either.

Personally I am not too bothered. But I would be if I was using a different device.

On occasions I play the games, however if they were put in a separate section, the rest of the topics would look very thin on the ground at times and I suspect HQ wouldn’t like that.

fancythat Wed 25-Oct-23 07:31:50

Ah. You could be right.

henetha Wed 25-Oct-23 09:56:24

It's just so easy to scroll past them, isn't it?

HOW TO HIDE THE GAMES
You can hide all the games if you don't want them. It takes time to hide them all but once you've done it you only have to go back every now and then to hide new ones.

Mobile site Go to Games/click on a thread/click on the red button on the right/click on hide this discussion/click on Games. The thread will have gone. Repeat for all the games.

Desktop site Scroll down to the bottom and click on 'mobile site' then you will be able to follow the above instructions. When you've finished go back to 'desktop site' at the bottom and the Games threads will have gone.

Callistemon21 Wed 25-Oct-23 10:40:34

I did that the other day, Chestnut and it's probably the best way if you want to carry on contributing to some Games threads eg Wordle.

Chestnut Thu 26-Oct-23 00:08:15

Yes, you have complete control because it allows you to keep some games if you want to. Gosh, the list of threads that show up on 'Last Day' are totally different when all the games are removed. You actually see the discussions.

I've always said that Games should have their own tab at the top and not be on a discussion forum at all. They are not discussions.

Thank you, Chestnut, I should be able to hide all the 'Limerick' games now!! xx
