GAMES SEPARATE SECTION

Thanks Chestnut. Finally got it sorted - I wasn’t going far enough down the page to find mobile view

I'm presuming you have 'desktop view' at the bottom as I only have that and 'mobile view'. I don't know if there is an 'iPad view'.

Juliet, scroll right down the bottom and you will see 'view mobile site'. You have to go there to make the changes. I enclose two screen shots. See previous instructions. Return to 'view desktop site' to go back to your normal view.

I would love to get rid of most of the games and have read Chestnut’s instructions but I don’t seem able to follow them for iPad. ??

How come only 5? There are 50 topics in the Active list!!! I delete the ones I'm not interested in to make more space for the ones I am interested in, which then move back up the list into the top 50. As I think I said above, "Load more" does NOT "load more"!

I see that some of the really old games have been resurrected. Was it worth doing that when there are so many games already?

I hide the games but have to be ever vigilant for new ones popping up. It does take time to get rid of them but it is worth the effort as I am not such a big fan of the alphabet.

I love the games, I just don't like that limericks we're literally taking over the games page!

Thank you Chestnut - a chore, but so worthwhile!

I didn't realise there were so many games threads. I hide them as soon as they crop up and never see them again. I used to join in with the limericks but got frustrated when some lines didn't scan. The alphabetical games just go round and round, and quickly become repetitive. I think it's nice that they are there, but I play so many other games on my tablet and phone that I don't need them.

What is annoying is that if I click on "Load more" on the Active page, nothing happens, so if I don't delete threads, on an active day, the current conversations soon disappear off the bottom of the list.

Yes, you have complete control because it allows you to keep some games if you want to. Gosh, the list of threads that show up on 'Last Day' are totally different when all the games are removed. You actually see the discussions.

I've always said that Games should have their own tab at the top and not be on a discussion forum at all. They are not discussions.

I did that the other day, Chestnut and it's probably the best way if you want to carry on contributing to some Games threads eg Wordle.

HOW TO HIDE THE GAMES
You can hide all the games if you don't want them. It takes time to hide them all but once you've done it you only have to go back every now and then to hide new ones.

Mobile site Go to Games/click on a thread/click on the red button on the right/click on hide this discussion/click on Games. The thread will have gone. Repeat for all the games.

Desktop site Scroll down to the bottom and click on 'mobile site' then you will be able to follow the above instructions. When you've finished go back to 'desktop site' at the bottom and the Games threads will have gone.

Ah. You could be right.

On occasions I play the games, however if they were put in a separate section, the rest of the topics would look very thin on the ground at times and I suspect HQ wouldn’t like that.
