Phlox not flowering

I have a lot of phlox in my garden, various colours. This year though, quite a few haven't flowered. They are fully grown, look very healthy but alas no flowers, and it is nearly September. Any ideas?

Strange things Phlox, mine didn't flower last year but this year have although they don't look very healthy!

I have some light blue ones, bright pink and white ones which are very profuse, but thats it. There must be a reason?

Light blue ones sound nice, I've only got the white and pink.

They are extremely prolific and also easy to take cuttings. Still no answer to the none flowering.
