It didn"t take me long to sort former "jungle" did loads of dead heading not too much weeding I am glad to say I don"t for unknown reasons get a lot of them , except of course the dreaded elderflower , it a total pain but once the garden gets up and running smothers it. One small point , I don"t know if you have a "Range" in your neck of the woods but they are selling their plants BOGF what a bargain grin

I am soon going to be able to seriously plan the planting for my odd shaped garden. It is a wide garden but not that deep and all along the back it slopes up to the fence. Am waiting until the hard landscaping is done ..we have a muddy area outside the dining room doors at the moment.. when paving is down I will feel able to concentrate on plants.. ideas for scented plants that will tolerate sunny (sloping) bed welcomed!

Thanks AlisonMA we did have a good time we were in California , mind you as a friend remarked , do you want a tidy garden or do you want to go for 5 weeks holiday ? I had to think long and hard ! [grin}

5 weeks is a long time in a Spring garden! Came back to a jungle after 2- got it all done now - and going away again!

Pure pleasure to potter round the garden checking each plant and removing weeds or dead-heading flowers. If only we had some sunny days to do it in!

I kno nothing about gardening as we always had mow and weed ones before but I am rapidly learning how hard it is to kill anything! Also how good these simple pleasure are.

I love my garden only wish I had more time to spend in it. I live very close to the seaside so sadly very few proper birds only them damned rats with wings !

I agree. We missed the sunny spell a few weeks ago because we were away so have been dealing with our jungle every time it stops raining.

I hope you had a good time wherever you went.

Last night we sat watching a baby bluetit being fed by a parent for ages until a pigeon frightened them away. Such a rare sight gave us about 20 minutes of pure pleasure.

I have just returned after a 5 week holiday to a jungle ie my garden . I might be a bit perverse , but what I find good is the pleasure I will get from sorting it out . Little things and all that
