Nice poem!
I found a hole in the grass yesterday and filled it with earth. Something has chucked all the earth out again. It must be a home sweet home. Do rats make holes? It looks a bit big for a mouse.

Here too - for us it is great news as we love skiing, both downhill and cross-country - and we needed a bit extra. We wouldn't have chosen to live where we do if we didn't like snow

Snowing heavily here. Sigh.

The birds around here are lively too. Perhaps they know something we don't.

I'm very conscious of bird song and chatter in the mornings now .

Poor frogs, Bags! We had a heron in our pond a few years back and it just stood there swallowing frogs, one after another. I sent the dog down to chase it off. She charged down ready for bird scaring duty, then saw how big it was and fled.

We were going to Lincoln for the weekend but have decided that east winds, snow flurries and temperatures of minus 3 are not conducive to sightseeing, so are staying put in our warm house

Hot coffee, mmm! And, soon, some flapjack to have with it . Bitter east wind here too. Chilly February.

Absolutely perishing here too, Jess. My walk this morning was in brilliant sunshine but the wind was arctic! Plain miserable. My hot coffee's good though.

Back in Oxfordshire, I once saw a carrion crow catch and devour a frog.

It is a beautiful day in Kintyre. As good as it was when I met Bags in the George at Inveraray... [always need to check the spelling...but it is correct]. Shrubs in bud. Heather looking grand. Birds tweeting. Cat and Mr soop snoring as the sunshine floods through the window.

The sunshine has gone. Lots and lots of grey now. Probably just as well for my back I suppose. It doesn't like gardening. I do though.

Absolutely glorious day. A red admiral rested on some early daffs today!!! Last winter buff tailed bumbles were sipping at the clematis all winter but NONE this year I guess the wet weather has done for them. Hope they recover.

kitty Sometimes, when I think my eyesight is getting worse, that cleaning my specs helps! Now there's a handy household tip? But then one would see the smears and dust more clearly...

Yes it does Ariadne but I must need new specs or something.

The worst place, when the sun shines, is the glass cupboard doors in the kitchen - I do wish people would be more careful when they open and close them!

Oh, but kitty doesn't the dust suddenly appear? And the smears on the windows? Fortunately I am managing to ignore it all!

It's been so lovely here today that I am loathe to close the curtains.
