Went out this morning, sweater and coat, temp: 10C. Lunch time sweltering as it reached 20C. Back home this evening, put extra socks back on, under 10C again, howling gale and rain. Welcome to summer 2013!

The meteo tells me this afternoon will reach 27C - "Blimey", I say to Mr. B. - it must be Summer!!

Gully streaks of snow remain
Now the hills are dark where rain
Has washed away winter's white.
Pond refilled and overflowing.

Taste of autumn in my snack:
A bread roll with cheese
And hedgerow jam,
Made by a friend from wild berries.

And summer has begun,
I know, because all day
I have had warm feet.
