Raspberries still fruiting

My autumn ones - which have got themselves mixed with the others - were fruiting until last week. Too cold and wet now.
The last few I picked a handful at a time and froze them, have a boxful now.

I have just resumed my daily walks after being away or busy for the last few weeks. To my amazement on each of my walks this week I have been picking handfuls of blackberries. Beautifully ripe and shiny - and beautifully sweet.

From early August to October I always have a plastic bag in my pocket and do about 10 - 15 minutes picking on each walk so I now have about 15lbs of blackberries in the freezer, but I had chucked this year's bag away thinking that the blackberries were finished. Today they were quite cold, almost frozen when I picked them and they melted in my mouth like ice looies.

Thats what I had been doing AllieOxon so nice to have them for a pud at Christmas... its just a shame the rest will be wasted they still have loads on them..
I haven't seen any blackberries though they seem to all be finished around here but I do have a bag in the freezer ..

Tanith I had some success in the summer when I accidently broke off a fruiting branch while picking Rasps. I put it in a jar of water on the kitchen window sill and most of the fruit ripened and was edible.

My patio pots of geraniums are still flowering and producing buds and lots of new leaves and they are outside against a wall (1 lot) and a fence (the other lot). I have roses in bloom a good spread of blooming lantana in the rockery. I expect the lot to go when we get the first hard frost but hey ho, spring isn't THAT far away.

Still have blackberries in the hedge by my house & still lots of cooking apples on the tree in spite of strong winds - fortunately as 40 bags of apples & blackberries frozen in the summer were ruined when the old freezer in the garage broke down while we were on holiday.
