Cats Keep Off!

Yes I keep a spray mister for both next doors cats who chase my sparrows and my dog who hunts frogs. At the moment is is in good use for both as the frogging season is upon us and they are singing like mad and there has been spawn in the pond for quite some time.

The thing is they are both following their instincts so I don't blame them exactly - just have to learn to live with them which really I have no trouble doing.

Silent Roar, pellets soaked in Lion dung. This is apparently a great cat deterrent, and free delivery! £8.75 a box and environmentally friendly. Each application lasts for 3 months in normal weather. PRIMROSE sells the stuff. Google 'Lion Poo' good luck

We have a cat who runs inside like a mad thing when he needs to go on his litter tray. He certainly won't go outside. I'm glad about that as we've had them in our garden, just not ours which makes it all the more irritating.

Cats, dogs and foxes can't abide the smell of citrus, and with the plethora of satsumas/oranges at this time of year, some peel dotted around should do the trick.
I have cats myself, but have always trained them to use their own garden! It annoys me that other cat owners don't do the same as it's easy enough to do...dig them a patch, put some cat litter on it to give them the idea, and tell them off if I spot them sneaking next door.
They are my animals and therefore I should deal with all aspects of them, as far as I am concerned...they used to call it consideration for others, although I find that sadly lacking in many of the younger generation...or am I just getting grumpy as the years plod on?

What seems to be working so far is putting a few small canes in the planted area then I take the canes out whenever the plants start to grow. Stops them and foxes destroying new growth.
