Saw a butterfly in the garden, it disappeared very quickly so I don't know what kind...pity it will freeze tonight......

Anyone seen others getting up too early?

No butterflies but my first snowdrop and shoots on a Clematis was a surprise.

Primroses, not hybrids.

I saw a red admiral just over a week before Christmas.

I was delighted to see two snowdrops out this morning. The start of things to come. smile

Not today but yesterday; was sitting in the car waiting for school to finish and what I assume to be a sparrowhawk came and sat on the fence next to us [seemed a bit big for a sparrowhawk but as it was checking out the local bird tables for something to prey on I assumed it was]. My fuschia in the garden is still flowering, as is the bacupa.

The females are quite big tegan a fair bit bigger than the males. Talking of males I saw some lambs the other day, and not that new. And this morning 4 rams in a paddock. One of them had horns that went right round through 360 deg and then another 180. (not very spring like but no rams, no lambs)

There is a primrose in bloom in my garden.

Yes we have one too, but today has been frosty so I don't think it will last very long. It's a shame because it's uplifting to see them and makes me think of the spring.
