Just wondered how everyone else's lupins are doing this year? Always have suffered a bit with white fly on them but this year is the worst I've seen them. Have tried spraying but doesn't seem to make a lot of difference.

Mine are looking a bit sorry for themselves !

They flowered when I was away in May/June , but NOW, just terrible.

Rather disappointing really, as I do rather love their smell !

Oh well !!!

sad really

Mine are all over and done with but they were nothing to write home about.

Rust on the garlic and broad beans with hardly any beans in the pods sad

My nanna had the most beautiful lupins I have ever seen but I was only little and I must admit they did frighten me a bit as they where way above my head they where massive and a lovely deep violet colour,I have never had any luck with them they get so far then sort of drop.

I was told of by grandpa for cutting off how lupins to give me mum (maybe I pulled them off, as aged 3). I was shocked into standing still and silent, as grandpa was the kindest man ever. Mum came out of one door, grannie out the other. Gran shouted at him "don't shout at that child, ever, it's only flowers'. Grandpa instantly hugged me, and talked to me about his love of lupins, told me they weren't like the daisies on the lawn, wouldn't grow again. I love lupins. Mine have been good this year. I grow them in pots, as they disappear in my garden.

Mine are just over, I love them. Fortunately didn't have any infestation this year, last year was mad with greenfly.

I have just planted some seeds so that I have replacement plants. The old ones weren't very good this year, either. X

Not sure whether mine have been eaten by the snails and slugs which have taken over the garden this year or whether they have just been swamped by the weeds sad.

Next year, perhaps?
