I think all the earwigs came for a little holiday in my beach hut! There were over 100 of them when I opened the door one day, creeping out of the cracks …………sorry but they didn't last long! I cut down the long grass that had grown up to the back of the hut and laid down a good dose of flea spray (only thing I had at home) and I hope they will now chose another location for their hols. wink

I have seen both in my garden this year, but not many ladybirds.
Is anyone else doing the butterfly count? Lots of small tortoiseshell, saw four peacock today, but I've only seen one red admiral this year.

I saw an earwig yesterday, yuk, not seen any ladybirds for ages though.

No earwigs this year so far, thankfully. They always eat the dahlias.
But I did see a ladybird, in Sainsbury's of all places, climbing up the door of the tall freezer. I watched it for ages until it disappeared over the top.

We have had a few earwigs in the garden and that's more than enough for me. No problem with spiders, bees, wasps etc but I hate earwigs.

No sign of ladybirds yet.

Oddly enough I saw 3 ladybirds on Sunday, one of which was on DH's back. These were the first I'd seen this year.
I remember several years ago when my children were young we had a plague of ladybirds in this area. You could have scooped them up by the handful.

I was strolling round the garden this morning before breakfast (it doesn't take long) and I wondered how long it is since I've seen an earwig or a ladybird -ages- have you seen any? Are they disappearing?
