Secret to planting strawberry pots?

Basically is there one? I have a terracotta pot with staggered holes round the sides that you can plant strawberry plants (or others I suppose) but... how do I stop the soil falling out. The holes do have a sort of lip but compost just flows out especially when I water. Any tips?

Once the plants get bigger that stops, but old tea bags are very useful, they act like mini sandbags.

Thanks Janerowena I will try that. I think it may also have been that I planted them up with the little wild strawberries so the plants didn't get very big. I have lots of normal size strawberry runners that I have rooted so will try those - anchored with tea bags. DH thought I was losing it when I said we needed to save used teabags - until I explained!
